Mountain Laurel is a folk rock band based in New York City and Fairfield County, Connecticut. Their journey began a decade ago in the Bronx, NY where Connecticut natives Andrew Pierson, Robert Salandra, and William Corona pulled together a few Beatles and The Band covers to play the basements and rooftops of their beloved Fordham University. Upon graduation, the three friends continued to play shows together in New York, eventually enhancing their sound with the soft, yet powerful, tones of Emma Salandra’s vocals. When the pandemic arrived, the group filled the hole left by the inability to play live with virtual collaboration, and eventually took to the studio - masks and all - to begin tracking their debut singles.
The band's music utilizes modern production techniques while still emphasizing musicianship with traditional rock and folk instruments. In the past two years, they have sold out venues across New York and Connecticut with an organically expanding fan base in the region. Their modest numbers of plays and listeners on streaming services are overshadowed by their ability to create an atmosphere at their live shows which feels more like a reunion of friends than a gathering of strangers.
