  • where were the jumbotrons along the back?

by george4777 on 4/16/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

why weren't the TV's turned on along the back where the s-turns were? a great stretch to see the race, and they were all turned off. disappointing.

Awesome event, fast action and exciting. Well presented. The Circuit of the Americas is an extraordinary venue.

Top quality world class event right here at home in Austin at a facility that is equally top quality and world class!

  • Races were great.

by Drepaul1 on 4/16/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

RACE: The 3 races were great. I enjoy the lawn seat. You can feel the heat from the bikes on the 3rd race. FOOD: There should be more food stand/trucks. It took my daughter 30 min. just to get 2 hotdog. There were about 75 people in the line. She went to see the race not to stand in line during the race. TICKET: I think the ticket price is a little steep, even the general admission ticket.

  • BRAAAAAAAPPPP on a Worldwide scale

The highest level of moto racing in the world is always exciting, especially for the fans. Even the non-followers were having a blast. COTA is without a doubt a world class facility in a beautiful setting. I do think they are just cutting their teeth on the logistical organization of parking and traffic which could stand for VAST improvement. You can't have over 1000 cars in a parking lot with a single exit! After having gone to both Laguna Seca and Indy, they have done a tremendous job at herding the sheep, but the brand new track at COTA and visual appeal of the entire grounds is stunning over the other 2. I think this will quickly become a historic track where many great moments in the new era of GP racing will take place. I feel lucky to have seen the first 2 years of MotoGP as Marc Marquez has cemented his place as the youngest and fastest, maybe, ever! Also, being able to watch Valentino Rossi's artful lines in the twilight of his legendary career is a gift.

The venue is great! The racing was entertaining! Leaving after the event was crap. A map for exiting the venue would be great. There seem to be a lot of back roads but I'm not familiar with the area and a guide would have helped.

  • First Ride to MotoGP

by CycloneRidersSplit on 4/16/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about the day was just about perfect, well except for a few moments where I rained and the sun was out making it really humid but other than that it was awesome. My club and I road out from San Antonio early in the morning and decided to take the new toll road SH 130, which was the smoothest road I have ever ridden on. With no traffic to slow us down we were able to make great time on our sports bikes, great time!. Parking left a little to be desired due to having to park at the main entrance which is the very furthest from where we would be sitting at turn 1. The venue itself was amazing along with all the venders I only wish I set more money aside and brought a few bags with me to take back home. The races were spectacular especially moto2 and 3 which has strong battle for top position just about the whole time. The DJ at the Red Bull truck was awesome in between races giving some great music to enjoy while we had lunch. All in all the only thing that could of made that day better was brining more brother and sister from my club with us so we could enjoy it as a family.

  • MotoGP Races are rippin'!

by PepeAustin on 4/16/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

MotoGP was a well organized, well run event. Incredible racers laying it all out. Easy in and easy out for such a big event. Wish more people were in the stands. The best seats are in the general admission areas where you can check out various sections of COTA., see multiple sections of the track simultaneously, and appreciate the talent of the racers. The vendor sections provided good food and drinks (w/ the expected cost) and the various motorcycle promo sections were fun to check out. On top of the racing were the stunt demos- incredible stunts! I did a single day ticket on Sunday race day. I could see this being the next great Austin event, the way ACL Fest became part of the annual calendar of events to not miss. Looking forward to the XGames.

  • MotoGP 2nd Year

by Bigelow74 on 4/15/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

Event was more organized this year. Lots more vendors. Ducati headlined. Parking for moto's was easier than last year. Parking for auto's was $30/day (rip off) Save some cash and park at the private lots. They have shuttles for you. Food - rediculously priced. If you have a family this is a venue you're not going to want to bring them to. Even with general admission prices, after food/drinks, you're going to be broke Sat in T15 Section 18 - great seats

  • Moto GP in the USA!! Loved it

Amazing experience. I'm so happy they built a moto GP track in Austin

  • MotoGP, where are they?

by Burtimus on 4/15/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 3 out of 5

I love the track and the venue in general. I have trouble paying for fairly high price ticket when the coverage on the TV is more complete. At the track we only get a view of one or two corners at a time, I can't see the bikes numbers and you can't hear any of the announcer once the noise starts. If I could feel like I got the same coverage I would pick live at the track every time. Why only one brand of bike was represented in the dealer area?

  • Great event! but difficult logistics

by jeffitalia on 4/15/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

The racing was flat out awesome. And the facility is impressive. Really nice venue, overall. Plenty of places to watch from given our General Admission seating, and it's pretty easy to get from one part of the track to another. Also, nice midway for the vendors. Plenty of stuff to see and buy. Downsides were mainly outside the track. COTA had blocks of rooms available at dowtown hotels, and had indicated on their website that a shuttle would run from downtown to the track all weekend, 7A to 7P. This was NOT the case. I ran into several others searching for the shuttle, and we wound up sharing cabs. Also, when leaving the facility, most people returned to the same spot where taxis had dropped them in the morning. Unfortunately, no one had notified the cab companies that there would be hundreds of people needing rides! It was a complete cluster. The customer service line at the track was staffed by people who didn't have any suggestions on how to get to/from the track. IMHO the logistics are part of the fan experience. If COTA wants to really fill the stands, they need to pay attention to this.

  • Fun day

by Redgoat on 4/15/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

We had great seats, but you can also go to the other areas via bus. Other areas have food, shows, vendors and other motorcycle enthusiasts. At the Grandstand there were vendors too. One thing I liked that it was less crowded and the lines where shorter. All in all we had a great time.

  • Awesome Event

by ADR1463 on 4/15/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

I had a blast. It was my first time at COTA and I enjoyed it a lot. The lay out was very user friendly from the ride in from parking to the ease of picking tickets from will call. The amenities were top notch never had to wait in a long line for the toilets. Food and beverages were a bit pricey but that is normal for events in Austin TX. Overall it was a great experience that I will gladly do again.

  • MotoGP great event; my 3 year old son loved it too

by JasonDAustin on 4/15/14Circuit of The Americas - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

We arrived at 11 am, and I was thinking that parking was going to be a real hassle, but it proved to be quite easy. Pedi-cabs made life much easier too. I liked the General Admission tickets because it gave us great access to most all of the venue. Since we were "first-timers" it helped us get a feel for the place before dropping some more serious cash on seats. The expo booths by Ducati, Honda, Yamaha and others were great, and my son enjoyed playing on all the demo bikes including some smaller dirtbikes, etc. Noise wasn't a problem and we never got the ear muffs out of the bag. All in all, a great event from start to finish.

website said there would be $10 motorcycle parking at the event, when I tried to purchase parking online the website said it was not available to purchase online. Upon arriving I was told by event staff I had to pay $20 to park my bike in a field car lot.

Had a blast at the Sunday-only MotoGP. Wish I could have stayed for the rookie cup race, too.
