Wife and I truly enjoyed the performances of all acts. The gathering of some of our all time favorites from the past was very exciting. The show was made long by the time between acts. It took more than 30 minutes between each act.
Only got to see 5 out of 7. I was disappointed because I PAID TO SEE ALL of these performances! They REALLY LACKED THE TIME FRAME of how the acts come and go on the stage... We waited at least 20-30mins in between each act... I DIDN'T LIKE THAT AT ALL!!! I LEFT AND WENT HOME... I heard the show wasn't over til after 2am.... I REFUSE to stay for a concert from 7pm-2am!!!
My group was so excited for Funk N Nashville and the bands did not disappoint, especially Lakeside and Morris Day. The whole concert took us back to high school. However what we really did not like was how long the concert was. There was a 30 minute break between each act for no apparent reason. This made the concert last 6 hours, which was entirely too long. The DJ between acts was entertaining but we didn't pay 95.00 to listen to a DJ! If there are other concerts with multiple acts please consider trying to shorten the time between acts so the attendees won't be exhausted by the time it's over.
I loved the fact that all the groups were there as advertised, Morris Day was last,but didn't perform the real hits I was looking for, nor did the Bar-kays. Both groups should have added more songs, and beside intermission time between the groups were too long. I thought the groups were great and thoroughly enjoyed them.
I purchased the tickets when the prices were inflated, the week of the show the same tickets were half the price I paid. On top of this, the set up between the performances was longer than the actual performances. There was not enough entertainment between the set up which made the show boring. Most of the artist only performed 3 or 4 songs. That was not worth the amount I paid for the tickets or the length of time I spent at the venue waiting.
All the groups was amazing and Dj kept everybody hyped I would definitely go again had a ball
That is the worst concert I’ve ever been to. The set changes were longer than the performances! I usually don’t attend these types of events. My expectations were too high! Also, something like this needs to be done outside. It started at 7p and ended at 1:30a. Really??? No more Funk Fests for me! These particular acts should retire. All except Zapp. They were okay.
Morris Day and the Time put on a great show. Midnight Star was also Fabulous... my favorite!! Actually every band was wonderful.. The only real complaint is that the stage changing between each band was so time consuming. It needs to be more streamlined... more stage hands or something. By the time Morris Day made it to the stage, many people had already left!!
I knew by looking @ the number of acts with the time they had too preform each group were not going to get alot of time on stage.I had seen all of the acts @ other venues & they all done well the problem with this concert was the technicians had problems wiring the equipment making for a long night & the D J doing a good job entertaining the crowd in between set-ups.I wasn’t disappointed knowing you weren’t going to get a longer show out of them,but the performers done well it was just the sound techs with no sound checks adjusting as they played & sang.Seen The Mary Jane Girls in Atlanta’s Wolfcreek with a band “wow” they rocked !!
Overall it was a great show, longest concert that I have ever attended. Bands were great even though they only sang 3 songs each it took to long between sets up to 30 minutes at 12:50 Morris Day had not come on stage so I left at 1 am.
Our seats were great however the concert was EXTREMELY too long from 7pm to 1 am we named it a 2 day concert. I was HIGHLY disappointed at the groups all except ZAPP the rest only sang 1-3 songs. The DELAY between acts was just unacceptable. I’ve never experienced that at a concert ever and I’ve been to MANY concerts. The promoter should have done a better job !! Memphis OWN Bar-Kay’s we’re a Huge disappointment as well.
The performers did a great job, but it took to long in between acts! A performer may sing for 20 minutes and it would take 30-40 minutes to set up the next act. It made for a very long night. The show lasted over 6 hours! Also the performers that you had have multiple hits but was only allowed to sing 2-3 songs each. Great Lineup but it could be tweaked.
The venue was nice, there was too much time between acts, the main act (Morris Day) only performed 2 to 3 songs. He was the man reason I brought tickets, I definitely don’t feel I got my money’s worth.
The show was okay, but I was looking forward to see Morris, he only song one song and that was the end. The main problem was long period of time for acts to come out. Over all Zapp was the Best performance.
All of the artist did an amazing job,. the time between each artist was too much. and I could have done without Morris day. The Lexus Lounge was in no way worth the money spent.
Concert was absolutely AMAZING!! Best concert i have ever attended. I would love to attend Old School concerts on a yearly basis.
They was 15 to 20 minutes between each artist. It was a dragged on show. I left out when cameo came out. Didnt watch the rest of the show
My husband and I really enjoyed all the musicians music but the waiting in between was too long but if this is the new thing then we will get use to it.
First of all. It was two many acts at onetime . First of all it was way to many act at one time. The concert started at seven and didn’t end until 1:30 in the morning. Another issue is that each group only did three songs and they had multiple hits over the years. My advice is to only have three to 4 acts performed in one setting. Honestly this should have been a two day event. The stage breakdown time Between Each band was to long.
We could not hear or understand the audio at the concert. It took too long in between acts for the next performer to come on stage. Set up for next performances was unacceptable. I have never experienced this at any concert. This really made it hard to enjoy. Now I will say about the last 3 performances were a little better. I really loved Zap! Marris Day could have done more songs. But it may have been because he didn't hit the stage until 1:00am due to the time it took each performer to get on stage.
