The Choir uplifts the spirit within

by jedd2 on 7/16/09Scottrade Center - St Louis

The repetoire for the choir covered many musical fields. African, Irish, American spirituals, patriotic, classical masters, American theatre, and hymns. The acoustics were very good. The volume produced by the orchestra and voices was outstanding. The enthusiasm one could feel from the performers energized the audience. Many moments touched the heart of the listener.

Morman Tabernacle Choir was really great

by Roeland on 7/15/09Sprint Center - Kansas City

I had never heard the Morman Tabernacle Choir sing before and did not know what to expect. I really enjoyed the show and the songs they sang. My favorite songs they sang were Amazing Grace and Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing. Although we are not Morman's the majority of the audience attendees were Mormans. Every one there was very nice and polite.

Raising the Roof to the Heavens!

by WeeGran on 7/15/09Scottrade Center - St Louis

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square produced sounds that raised the roof of the Scottrade Center clear to the heavens! One would think that so many voices and instruments would, of course, make a lot of sound. But these sounds were not merely powerful, they were awe-inspiring. From whisper soft while singing achingly beautiful hymns, to the mighty crescendi of the 2002 Winter Olympics' "Call of the Champions", the Choir and Orchestra brought an intensity of emotion through sound, the likes of which have not been heard in St. Louis for the past 50 years.

by mwn72 on 7/15/09Scottrade Center - St Louis

I took my mom and dad for mother's/father's day. They had a great time and it made my day to see how much it meant to them to witness this extraordinary group.

I'd never seen the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in person before. It was well worth the cost of the tickets. They really showed up with their A game.

    The Tabernacle Choir is outstanding

by musicavulgaris on 7/15/09Scottrade Center - St Louis

I have been listening to the Tabernacle Choir on radio and TV, record, tapes, cds, etc. for over 50 years. Seeing and hearing them live was a thrill of my life. They are such an amazing group of voices, and so versitile for so many voices. The Orchestra and Organ even make their sound more glorious. I wish I could have the chance to see and hear them live again at least one more time in my life.

Mormon Tabernacle Choir was a night to remember!!

by Pickster on 7/15/09Scottrade Center - St Louis

I have been listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on the radio my entire life. The thought of seeing them in person seemed to be far-fetched. But that all changed when they appeared in St. Louis after an almost 50 year absence. Accompanied by the Orchestra at Temple Square and directed by Mack Wilberg, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang songs ranging from hymns, to folk songs, to classical music, to show tunes, to patriotic songs. This all climaxed in their famous and very familiar rendition of Battle Hymn of the Republic. The night has a special note with the appearance of Lloyd Newell whose voice is very familiar on "Music and the Spoken Word" every week. The whole evening was capped off with everyone joining in with "God Be With You Til We Again". Hopefully it won't be 50 more years until we meet again!!

    Fantastic concert!

by JD3733 on 7/15/09Scottrade Center - St Louis

Without a doubt, this was one of the most enjoyable concerts I have attended in quite some time. The music was superb. I have always been a fan and follower of the Choir and Orchestra. Their music abilities are first rate. I plan to travel to Salt Lake City just to hear them again.
