    Amazing experience for the price!

by Riskylady on 3/24/24Family Arena - Saint Charles

Sat right up front in 5th row. So close to all the action! Length of show was about twice as long as expected. Quality show and very family friendly. All the older teens and young 20s enjoyed the entertainment as well and said they'd definitely come again!

    Wow…

by Izzi on 3/24/24Family Arena - Saint Charles

One: website stated they only take card for parking. Pull up to park and pay and then told they only take cash. So on the search for a ATM began. Two: purses. My purse fit on the stupid board but because the strap didn’t “fit” I was turned away. But hey diaper bags and lunch boxes seemed to make there way in just fine. Three: no animals. at a circus. Four: at the end. After the snacks, after the toys, after the parking and after the original ticket cost… they open the “ring” with activities.. but wait for a 5 min camel ride $15, bounce house $10 and face painting and more… well you get the idea. I understand the event is to make money for children but it was just a cash grab from start to finish. And none of this was stated before you enter. And come on, how would you feel after spending 200 up to the end to tell your kid you don’t have cash to do the activities at the end? So if you go, take at least 200 bucks more in cash.

Not the Greatest Show on Earth

by JK on 3/30/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

I have to say, not so great. I sat through the 2 hours thinking of simple ways to improve the experience. Two of the 3 rings were empty most of the show. Put a dog or pony in the ring and have them just trot around or jump through a hoop. The one time clowns came out they were in the far away ring. We couldn’t make sense of what was happening. Spread them out into 3 rings. The good: The man on stilts and the huge beach balls. Good Good. The men on the spinning wheels! Dare Devils! Good. The Trampoline act was super good! Great! If you’all could cut some minutes out of the show and keep the momentum going more you’d gain some fans. PS. I paid for 8 family members to go, not a freebie viewer.

Don’t waste your time, just give a donation.

by Carolyn on 3/29/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

We spent 17 minutes waiting in line to pay $10 for parking. Waited another 10 minutes to get through security. Plan for an extra 30 minutes to get into the lot and building, if you decide to go. Circus was not a quality performance. Good dancers and nice dog act but not what I’ve seen before to be a good circus. Intermission was paid pony and donkey rides…I’m not a veteran so I paid for seats. It’s a “donation” but next time I’ll just give my money and not my time. My 14,6 and 4 year old suggested we leave after the pony rides. We were front row. Just saying my kids would rather play outside than be at this circus.

Definitely not as good without the animals

by Kye on 3/29/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

Been going for many years and loved it. This year was definitely different without the animals. No motorcycles in the ball. No trapeze probably want to go again unless the animals come back.

    Sucked

by Angie on 3/29/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

Horrible. There were no animals. That should be stated up front. I want my money back! The kids said they were scammed! Everyone was disappointed. We left at intermission. Had to pay 15 each child for them to ride the pony and another 15 each child to ride the camel. Everything had cost attached.

    Great Circus

by Missy on 3/29/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

We had a wonderful time. We had general admission tickets and the kids were free. We spent some money on rides...Camel ride was 2 times around the ring and 15 per person ...they loaded 4 kids on the camel, so as long as you dont mind riding with strangers it was fine. Pony was 10 I think and it was also only two times around. The train was 8. The kids had a great time...the ride tickets were overpriced, but the circus was so inexpensive that we felt it was fine that the rides were more. The clowns were awesome and came into the crowd during the show. It was so very entertaining and a good experience to give to kids. We missed riding elephants as the last time we went there were elephant rides. I hope they have those again at some point.

    Second year...disapointing

by Jay on 3/29/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

Had a great time and show last year, and opted to do it again unfortunately. Honestly, this show was not nearly as entertaining. It felt oversexualized this tear in a lot of acts and not kid friendly. My kids who were completely engaged last year were lost with a lot of the adult styles of acts, and unimpressive performances. The Shriners are a great cause but the pre-show and intermission kids rides are super expensive and very short. I mean....10 dollars for a picture with a snake but kids face painting is just 6 dollars? The train ride and animal rides are terribly overpriced as well. Tickets are affordable for seats and worth sitting up front...The concession costs and the light up toys are terribly overpriced.

    Hmmmmmmmm

by LW on 3/29/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

I haven’t been to the Moolah circus in a while. I remember growing up the tickets were free and might have been this time. I purchased tickets to be able to sit at the very bottom because my nephew and daughter have never been to the Moolah Circus before. I can say at least on my side, there wasn’t enough interaction with children of color nor was any picked on the Sunday show and on Sunday if it wasn’t the majority of the representation there then it was least 50/50. They were dying to be apart of the action and never chosen. Even looked over and reached over to hand out balloons and swords. Sometimes it’s just humans unnaturally doing it because that’s who you are around mostly and see but the circus needs to try better to diversify audience participation. Lastly, the show was extremely long and dry. My 4 year old nephew asked could we leave. He had fallen asleep amongst several other audience member from 2-82 years of age. There were some exciting acts. It’s sad though we had a family say how is the beach ball interaction act more fun than the rest of the show. I hope the next time, the show returns it’s stepped up a bit.

    Great show, lackluster venue

by KK18 on 3/29/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

The entertainers were amazing and the Shriners volunteers were great. The lack of ushers and the venue itself were a disappointment. Unsupervised kids were ruining the show for many in our section. Kicking of seats and temper tantrums were abundant and there weren’t any ushers in sight to ask the parents to control their behavior. The seats themselves felt like they could fall apart at any moment, the venue needs some major upgrades in the future. Overall our family had fun and you can’t beat the ticket prices along with the extras like face painting and the intermission rides. Unfortunately the lack of supervision and crowd control will probably prevent us attending next year. The police were forced to get involved on two occasions that we witnessed and families removed because arguments over kids behaving badly turned into parents fighting.

    Not so good

by EW on 3/29/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

Nothing like the circus’s we have seen in the past. I realize animals are protected. So many of the standard show was eliminated. Not sure if it was because of matinee or all shows. Tickets were quite pricey for what we got.

    Just ok

by D on 3/29/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

We took 4 children and they enjoyed very little of the show, as well as us. Intermission would have been nice but all the activities were way over priced.

    Fantastic Show

by mcpam on 3/28/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

I actually paid for the ticket for my 7 year old grandson. It was worth the price just to see the joy that the circus brought to his face. Loved the show!

    Great show but horrible intermission

by St Charles Mom on 3/28/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

Great price for a packed with excitement show. Love that they got rid of the animals. Only down side was a WAY TOO LONG intermission of 45 minutes!! I have no idea why it was this long but it was actually longer than the second act. Just something to keep in mind.

    Great family fun!!

by Chuck on 3/28/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

My family and I had a wonderful time. The performers were all great! They made us laugh as well as cringe at some of the dangerous acts. My 5 year old daughter absolutely loved it. My wife and I actually did as well. Highly recommend for a good, clean, family time.

There was so many great performers, and the way they made sure to get involved with all the people was a great experience. Will definitely be going again!

    A good time.

by Felicia S on 3/28/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

The circus has added different features this year. We loved the high flying dogs. The trampoline show was also very good. Loved the addition of the zebra this year. We miss the elephants. The clowns were very friendly and appreciative of us showing up.

    Disappointed

by Nonnie on 3/28/23Family Arena - Saint Charles

I have taken my kids and now my grandkids annually for many many years. It is disappointing that they no longer have tigers and elephants. My grandson also missed the motorcycle acts. I missed the lady with the changing clothes and the acrobats. Many great acts like the tumblers and the audience participation but going to the circus isn't the same without many of the traditional acts.
