Paramore and Fall Out Boy: only once in a lifetime

by Anonymous on 6/26/14Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

To start off, these are two of the best live bands of our day. Also some of the most unique. Both of their shows were amazing. The music was not too loud, yet just loud enough, and they both sounded just like they do on their cds. I am not kidding, look up the show on YouTube. It's safe to say that this is the best show I've ever been topossibly because it was my first. And what a first! I most definitely was not expecting this kind of caliber of concert, and I was blown away. They sounded great, of course, but they theatrics were amazing: Paramore had three giant bars, their symbol, behind them, as well as a panel with lights that showed flames during "let the flames begin" and other effects during other songs. Hayley Williams, as well as as Jeremy Davis and Taylor York, were all over the stage, running around and performing the famous "Pressure Flip", where Jeremy flips over Taylor's back, both still playing. paramore played an interesting mix of songs, including non-singles such as "Let the Flames Begin" into "Part II" or "Feeling Sorry", off Brand New Eyes. Fall Out Boy started their performance with a monologue, telling fans to "never give up" and to "keep on fighting". They had tv screens that were constantly moving and showing different images. Patrick Stump and Andy Hurley had a drum-off, Pete Wentz was waving a white FOB flag during "The Phoenix", and Joe Troehman was running everywhere. A giant black bird appeared during "Save Rock and Roll", and Lolo appeared onstage to sing "Just One Yesterday"with them. They stayed true to their punk roots, even closing with "Saturday", while playing 8 out of 11 songs on their new album, Save Rock and Roll [via MTV]. Both were inspirational. When Hayley brought a fan onstage to sing thebridge of "Misery Business" with them, she said it was about "giving everybody a voice" and told fans all the way in the top bleachers that they were "as much a part of the show as the people in the pit". It felt that way. Pete, when he took over the mike, said that the show was"awesome" and they were"lucky to be here". He also proceeded to say, "If you say you love fall out boy, you're essentially saying you love yourself. Because we started out as four crummy dudes from the Chicago suburbs who were into punk rock, and look at us now". He urged that"anyone in the crowd could do the same". Kudos to both bands for putting on an unforgettable show, to all the people behind the scenes for making sure they sounded great and making incredible staging possible, and to all fans for making the atmosphere wonderful. All in all, I would recommend this to anyone. Sadly, it is extremely unlikely it will happen again...unless you get tickets to a show later this summer. Please do. You will not regret it!

Fall Out Boy and Paramore were awesome and New Politics were an unexpected pleasure. All the bands were extremely engaged and really seemed excited to be in Hartford kicking off the tour.

    Adversity Overcome

by LastDeadMouse on 6/26/14Xfinity Center - Mansfield

We had the worst 15th row seats you could possibly imagine. They were RIGHT NEXT TO THE STACK! Every bass note was a jarring experience. Then we wasted $12 apiece on earplugs that did nothing to mediate the problem. What a waste of money! Both on those seats as full price and for the earplugs. Thanks to Usher Supervisor Steve who moved us and salvaged our night. Once we we re-seated, it was a nice night. It's easy to over look how good Paramore is. Catchy tunes, lots of them, a real positive message and perfect sound - and it's true every time I see them! It was even more noticeable tonight as the sound for (nominal headliners) Fall Out Boy was muddy in comparison. Other than not recognizing any songs, FOB was also quite enjoyable. Cool stage show, their tunes had lots of variety and skilled musicians.

    Great show!

Love Fall Out Boy. Their set was awesome! They performed about 20 songs, cool drum off, lots of pyrotechnics, cool set. Not so much a fan of Paramore, but their set was good too. They have lots of energy, very entertaining. The show is long, one of the first times I felt like the show was worth the price of the tickets! Lots of fun!!! I was at the jones beach show, missed the opening act (New Politics) due to waiting on line for over an hour to get a shirt (only low point of the evening)

    Monumentor!

by susin on 6/25/14Xfinity Center - Mansfield

All three bands were high energy and really great to the audience. I primarily went to see Paramour and they were fantastic, so much fun and her voice is stellar live. All in all a great show...my only 'complaint' is that the last half of Fall Out Boy the guards turn a blind eye which meant four people standing in the way of my view that I PAID FOR. The cigarette smoking was a bonus too...great for us asthmatics. I get that people want to be closer..maybe they could try actually buying the seat they want.

Monumentour: Fall Out Boy and Paramore

by Patrcat on 6/25/14Xfinity Center - Mansfield

Such an awesome show.... I found a new fave in the opening act New Politics. Paramore was awesome, I got tired watching the lead singer run around the stage for the entire time. It shows how much energy the show had. FOB were amazing... this was the first time I have seen them and I would so go do it again today...

I've seen paramore before but they also seem to surprise me everytime I hear that beautous voice of hailey Williams. She is the white version of Beyoncé and it's all live! No lip singing! And fall out boy was increable as well! Overall it was defiantly worth the wait and money

I really love Fall Out Boy, but...

by westchesterconcertgoers on 6/24/14Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

I do love Fall Out Boy, but having seen them several times years ago, I have to say that it seems like Pete Wentz is not putting on as great of a show, especially compared to Paramor, who put on an energetic, fantastic show, filled with energy and excitement. I was just a little disappointed that Pete did not run around like he used to, rather, he kind of just stayed in one spot and talked to the audience a few times. Paramor actually brought a fan up on the stage. Don't get me wrong, I love the music, just thought that it would have been nice to have some level of energy.

Best Concert of the Year Thus Far

by DoubleD06811 on 6/24/14Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

Paramore was high octane & got us singing & dancing in our seats. Fall Out Boy brought the night to life & continued the party Paramore started.
