    Unforgettable to say the least!

by trishm765 on 2/28/12Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Unforgettable not because it was amazing, but because of the poor quality of the show. What was it? A concert or a musical? Musicals of course tend to be remarkable works of art which this of course was not. An amazing voice gone to waste. Why waste time on the dramatics when you've got a voice like that.

It was BAD real BAD show.....

by Nigrin on 2/28/12Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

We expected a concert and it was a play, ticketmaster never advertised as a play and it was so bad that a lot people started leaving before the end of it. She sang no more than 10 songs and did not sing any of the known songs even though people were shouting to sing her known songs. The play was the most ridicolous I've ever seen, no script at all and only 4 people all together. It was a total rip off!!!!

    Very dissapointed

by Floresisidro on 2/28/12Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

I have alway's thought of Monica Naranjo as one of the greatest singer's in the music industry, and have alway's admired her amazing instrumental voice and her unique character as an artist, and have been following and listening to her music for a long time, but sadly to find out that this show was totally not what I expected. Seeing for the first time was a great experience that I won't forget, but also and experience of how disappointed I was to realize that it's not only the voice that matters but also on having and making your fans be completely satisfied with your performance. I have to admit this has been one of the worst event that I've been to.

Excellent musical with laughs & a great voice!!!

by Panther26 on 2/28/12Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

The script carries you through a comedy journey full of laughs, public interaction, and excellent songs executed by a great voice and a piano. It's the best role I've seen performed by an amazing artist. I would recommend to attend as fan of Monica Naranjo or a theater musical lover. I am going back again to Mexico City!

    Incredible Vocal Performance

by BlueBud on 2/28/12Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

This was an ingeniously crafted theatre/concert performance. Hilarious comedic performances by Ms Naranjo et al. Truly wonderful piano-accompanied renditions of powerful ballads from throughout her career plus beautiful covers. Experiencing her voice live left me very grateful, she is very gifted in her vocal range and control of voice and has a distinctive singing style that is incomparably "her." I would love to see/hear/experience it again.

Monica Naranjo is still at the top of her game!!!

by Alejandro619 on 2/28/12Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

The Monica Naranjo madam noir was not a concert but more a play. I thought the production and how it was set up was amazing. Story being of a diva, madam noir played by our star Monica is castes to make a movie an the her director to this film and his crew struggle to make her happy. This comedic play is set in the 1930's but with a modern feel. All I can say it is it was a genius production and well done. Unfortunately people that when to the event believed that's they where at a concert and decided to be rude and shout during the play. It was hard to enjoy at times due to his disturbance. I hope that as a whole we didnt give the good impression to the artist and that those who made the rest of us look bad should be ashamed. Monica's performance was outstanding, her voice was breathtaking and with only having a piano as the instrument let me just say it makes other artist the do that want to work more on their vocals. Great show. I will hope to see another of her shows.

    A great performance

by Scalextric on 2/28/12Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

I had never seen MN live in concert, and was absolutely floored by her talent, her voice and her command of the stage. The format of the concert was innovative, all musical numbers linked by theatrical pieces that, if at times felt a bit long, provided variation, a sort of pagination and sometimes even humorous relief. At that, Monica Naranjo threw a curve on the audience. Some of her fans were just not ready for the slow, heartfelt and operatic material she delivered. That and the unexpected theater bits were enough to make some audience members unhappy. A lot of them were there for a high-energy event, with lots do dance tunes and old hits. They received a highly sophisticated, risky and successfully conceptual piece they were not intellectually prepared for. They voiced their opinion in extremely rude, distracting and in general, a terribly disconsiderate manner. In all of this, Ms. Naranjo demonstrated uncanny abilities to humor, control, seduce and entertain what felt like a bunch of raised-by-wolves uneducated savages, making it all the more clear what kind of artist she is. AMAZING.

    Spectacular

by MrCalifornia on 2/28/12Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

This performance was fantastic. She was only accompanied by a piano. The music was splendid. The performance was a cabaret style parody of a Diva. It was supremely witty. It was unfortunate that the audience in attendance was not smart enough to understand it. People kept yelling at the stage, at the performer, asking for their favorite songs.... it was a surprised Monica Naranjo didn't leave the stage... I was so irked at the audience for being uncouth that I left the performance before it concluded. It is simply unfortunate that she was only the Los Angeles for one night.

    Sheer Brilliance - Phenomenal!!!

by GueroLA on 2/27/12The Orpheum - Los Angeles

Monica's performance left me speechless last night. I saw her last summer in Ibiza, in 2009 in Mexico City, at Reventon and many moons ago at Circus Disco in Los Angeles. She just keeps getting better and better. Her Madame Noir performace was a very special intimate show, more of a theatrical stage play and a chance to show her acting skills, comedian-like qualities and of course her incredible vocal skills. She and her "director" came into the audience several times and interacted with the crowd. Also, there were many moments were I was laughing hysterically at the jokes. Unfortunately, there were a few "rotten eggs" in the crowd that had to keep yelling, giving their input being horribly and embarrasingly disrespectul to the diva that was pouring her heart and soul out for us. Monica's voice was amazing. There was no lip syncing, no tracks with backing vocals, just Monica's pure vocals and it was sensational! Also, I was particually impressed with the pianist. He was incredible and really helped accent Monica's vocals with crescendos and decrescendos and natural raw talent. The pieces he was playing were very difficult and he played the songs with such ease making it seem effortless. The others in the productions did a great job as well. I'm so glad that Monica Naranjo returned to Los Angeles with this special intimate production. In the future I would love to see her bring an upbeat dance-oriented production of all of her hits (such as her Stage tour) to Los Angeles. She has a huge following here and her music is still played frequently in the clubs in LA. Monica - great job on Madame Noir!!! We love you!!!
