About

Teenage actress Miranda Cosgrove launched her music career in 2007, when she scored a hit with the theme song to her own TV show. Born in Los Angeles on May 14, 1993, she began her acting career at a young age, appearing in several commercials as well as the pilot episode of Smallville. Her breakthrough role came in 2002, when she played the role of Summer Hathaway in the film School of Rock, a comedy hit starring Jack Black. In the wake of School of Rock's success, she was cast in a supporting role on the children's television sitcom Drake & Josh (as Drake and Josh's kid sister, Megan Parker), which was broadcast by Nickelodeon from 2004 to 2008.

As Drake & Josh drew to a close, Cosgrove landed the lead role in iCarly, another popular Nickelodeon sitcom. Cosgrove also performed the show's theme song, which was commercially released in 2007 and became a hit soon after, driven in large part by YouTube views and iTunes downloads. iCarly: Music from and Inspired by the Hit TV Show appeared one year later, featuring four performances by Cosgrove and additional music by the likes of Sean Kingston, Menudo, and the Naked Brothers Band. By the end of that year, Cosgrove had also released a holiday single, “Christmas Wrapping” (a cover version of the Waitresses track), and started to work on a full-length album. Her song "Raining Sunshine" landed on the soundtrack to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 2009, and she released her debut album, Sparks Fly, one year later. ~ Jason Birchmeier & Andrew Leahey, Rovi

    Greyson Chance was amazing!!!

by cndy on 1/26/11Uptown Theater - Kansas City

The opening act was wonderful - great stage present, went to lobby to sign autographies and have pictures taken with all the tween girls. Miranda Cosgrove was good - flat a couple of times - did not have as much stage present as the opening act. But all the girls loved the Miranda and the show. P.S. The light from Miranda show - were a little annoying - shinning on your eyes.

    I still like ICarly ~

by olivemom on 1/26/11Uptown Theater - Kansas City

the only reason this event won't go down in history as the worst concert ever is because it was at the Uptown Theater , my favorite venue in KC for seeing concerts ~ My 6 yr old daughter had a good time and ultimately that IS ALL that matters ...... I wasn't expecting to have a wonderful music experience given the performer I was watching but Miranda Gosgrove, whom I am a big fan of as an actress by the way, is no singer. Yes, she is adorable and likable and her songs have a little girl pop appeal but her voice is no better then my 10 yr old son's ....... he can't sing either! I don't understand why a concert that draws a crowd of young girls in the 5-14 age range even needs an opening act ...... start the show at 7 pm and get finished so these kids can get to bed ! My daughter wasn't there to see the Greyson kid and she had no interest in him ...... for those that are fans of his, give him his own concert. My other complaint was the price of the t-shirts ...... $40.00 seriously? For a childs small t-shirt ? Miranda is a very talented comedic actress and she should really stick to that !

My son and I really enjoyed the concert. It was upbeat and kept the crowd involved and having fun. Her voice was awesome and the on stage extras kept it very entertaining. Definately worth seeing and would go again if she is in the area.

    Miranda was awesome.

Miranda voice was amazing. She did a great job getting the crowd involved especially on the song "BAM". Her dancers on stage were incredible. We missed out on getting VIP tickets for the meet and greet. We waited outside in very cold weather as my son was wishing and dreaming to meet Miranda. Miranda did not come out but her opening act Chance Greyson did come out and talk to the fans. One of Miranda's dancers came out and talk to us, which was very nice.

    Excellent mom daughter event

by KansasCookie on 1/26/11Uptown Theater - Kansas City

The opening guy Greyson Chance is so tallented, never heard of him until then, he is now my daughter's crush. She met him, got an autograph and a picture with him that is a memory of a lifetime. Miranda, rocked out the crowed and got everyone in the dance mood. Love the fact that she dressed like a respectable idol for my daughter who is 8. This was a great mom daughter event that will leave a lasting memory.

    Great show for kids

by IsasMom on 1/26/11Uptown Theater - Kansas City

I took my soon-to-be 7-year-old daughter to the show, and we had a great time. She sand a couple of covers that were fun for everyone, and she sang some of her own music that the kids knew. It wasn't too big of a show and it didn't drag on too long. It was perfect for her audience, and it wasn't a total drag for the adults. She was energetic and put on a great show! We're glad she made KC her first stop!

We took our 8 and 11 year olds to see Miranda Cosgrove and the whole family (parents included!) had a wonderful time. She is an amazing talent. Her performance was not as long as we would have liked, but the time she was on stage she was A+.

Don't waste your money on Cosgrove!!!

    by bfr57 on 11/5/10Tucson Arena - Tucson

We spent precious money to take our family to see Miranda in Tucson, AZ, and I have to say what a let-down. After sitting through 2 terrible opening acts, she came on stage for 20 minutes, sang 5 or 6 songs, and was done. Not what I call "getting out money's worth!" My 7 year-old was in tears because that's all she did. I think Miranda lost a fan!! I would rate lower than 1 star, but can't.
