Mikel Erentxun is a Basque rock musician from Caracas, Venezuela. The artist got his start fronting the Spanish-language rock act Duncan Dhu before going solo in 1992 with his debut album Naufragios. As a solo artist, Erentxun has released 16 albums — including 1998’s Acróbatas, 2003’s Cuidades de Paso, 2015’s Corazones and 2021’s Amigos de Guardia — as well as a 2015 EP titled Corazón Salvaje and a 2018 live album recorded at historic Los Angeles venue The Roxy. Erentxun is also known for his Spanish-language covers of The Smiths’ “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out” and Morrissey’s “Everyday Is Like Sunday.” Erentxun’s tour of Spain and Mexico in support of 2023’s Septiembre will continue in 2024.
