Mike brings high energy, great music, and sometimes a surprise or two. Aly doing cartwheels on the stage was the surprise that even surprised Mike. Outstanding show.

Mike Girard and the Big Swinging Thing's performance was fantastic. High energy, great music from a cast of very talented musicians and hula hoop performers! Had the music in my head for days after. Can't wait to see them again.

I saw Mike Girard and his Big Swinging Thing Band last Saturday at the Cabot and was thoroughly entertained by Mike and his very talented band, singers and performers. Was stunning from start to finish both musically and visually. Incredible mix of great songs performed beautifully. I cannot imagine anyone walking away from one of these performances unsatisfied.

Last night, we went to the Cabot to see Mike Girards (of the the fools) big band. OMG, it was a great show -- super eclectic. they played everything from aqualung by tull and It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll by ACDC to the theme to Goldfinger and simply the best by Tina turner -- most fun I have had at a show in a long time. It did not hurt that they had a 13 player horn section and two killer back up singers who also did lead on a bunch of songs.

Seeing & Hearing this High Energy Act( "Mike Girard's BIG SWINGING THING"--5/14/22) & it's Amazing Array of Performers, at The Cabot Theater ,was an Ultimate Treat!!

Sound engineer was horrific. Lots of irritating feedback.

We have seen Mike Girard's Big Swinging Thing a number of times. We think of the Cabot as our home venuje. The Big Swinging Thing is sensory overload. We have 10 horns, 2 guitars, drums, keyboard Mike Girard the lead singer and The Jewels who are two suburb backup singers. Then add two "hoopers" that push everything over the top. The Cabot is 100 years of history that has been made current without sacrificing the history that makes the Cabot what goes down in history while making history.

The musical selection was dissappointing....hula hoop girls added to amature show....

Damn good time. Not the first time I have seen them. Not the last either. GO.

Great show, very entertaining and it didn't break the bank. I would love to see them play some big band stuff. They certainly have the musicians to pull that off. Blue Ocean is one of the best places to see a show.

Great musicianship! Always a fun night of music from an amazingly talented group. A must see!!!

MGBST is a rare musical experience! All top notch musicians and the vocals are incredible! A wide variety of music genres, including a few Fools favorites, add the hoopers, makes this an evening you will never forget!

Mike Girard's Big Swinging Thing provided one of the best nights of music. High energy. Excellent music. Horns, guitars, drums, the Jewels, hula hoops and, of course, Mike Girard. I moved and grooved to the music all night long. If this band is in town, I will be there. The Cabot is a wonderful old venue with good acoustics. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The Pinot Noir wasn't bad for the venue. All in all this was a perfect night.

Poor song selection unless you are 70 years old or more. Would expect him to open with better material. Obnoxious promotion of his “salacious” book by referencing how he had a hook up with a celebrity wife of a rock and roll star. The women back up singers are talented which was the only highlight.

If you like all kinds of music, and I mean ALL KINDS, you will love Mike Girard's Big Swinging Thing. There is rock n roll from every era, great band sounds, hula hoops and fancy back-up singers! You never know what's going to happen next! All the very talented musicians make the experience the most beautiful chaos I've ever enjoyed. Just lean back and laugh because it's such fun!

I’ve been going to shows for 50 years and I have to tell you this was positively one of the best I’ve ever seen. I’m a old time big band fan and there’s nothing like a wall of horns to make your hair stand up! These guys ( and ladies ) delivered on every tune. Mike G. is a great entertainer. Already bought my tickets for the next show!!! Do not miss this band!

This event proved to be different look into Mike Girard's talents. Having seen The Fools several times, we were aware the possibilities the Big Swinging Thing had the potential to be a musical happening. We were pleased by the talents of the orchestra, two women vocalists, as well as the group's ability to cover well-known songs of a plethora of musical groups through different periods of time. The following comment by a friend that attended the show with me says it all, "Went to the show Friday night. Awesome." If you have a chance to see this group, it is well worth attending. Additionally, the Blue Ocean Music Hall is a wonderful venue for concerts. Clean, plenty of parking, with a friendly staff.

This Show is like No Other.It has a Large Array of Extremely Talented Members that perform a wide variety of Entertainment for the Enjoyment of Any music Lover!!Their Sold Out Shows are NEVER a Let Down.Highly recommended for an Enjoyable Experience!!
