About

"Leave your troubles outside. Here, life is beautiful, everyone is beautiful, the girls are beautiful, the boys are beautiful," a line from 'Cabaret.' It is on such philosophy that MIKA has built an unshakable career and catalogue.

Throughout his career, MIKA has crafted a world of gritty romance amidst the joy and playfulness of technicolored alternative pop. He's a renaissance artist of impeccable intention who's name has rightfully found its way alongside legendary acts such as Elton John, Freddie Mercury and Prince.

MIKA opened his pop career in 2007 with the defining single Grace Kelly, which went on to sell over 3 million copies worldwide and was the second British single ever to top the chart on downloads alone. It was #1 in the UK for 5 weeks and topped the charts in 6 other countries also. His debut album, Life In Cartoon Motion, has over 2.8 billion streams to date, selling over 8.3 million albums and racking up 12.8 million digital track sales. The album went straight to #1 in the UK and 11 other countries.

His second album The Boy Who Knew Too Much released in 2009 continued the trend, making it into the top ten in over 10 countries worldwide and containing the hits We Are Golden, Blame It On The Girls and Rain. In 2011 MIKA released the French language single Elle Me Dit which topped the French charts for 8 weeks in 2011 clocking up over 300,000 sales and becoming the second best selling single of the year in the process. The video featured legendary French actress Fanny Ardant and has over 75.5 million plays.

His third album The Origin of Love, was released to international acclaim in 2012 and includes the huge single Celebrate, featuring Pharrell Williams, and US smash Popular Song, which was later reworked as a duet with pop superstar Ariana Grande. The Popular Song duet video currently has over 205 million views.

MIKA then conquered the hearts of TV audiences across Europe, appearing as a judge on the X Factor Italy, a coach on The Voice France, both of which he is still involved with, and topping the charts in France with the release of "Boum Boum Boum".

2015 saw the release of Mika's 4th studio album, No Place In Heaven, to critical acclaim, created with long-time collaborator and Grammy nominated producer Gregg Wells and featured hit singles "Talk About You" , "Staring at the Sun" and the iconic video for "Last Party" shot by Peter Lindbergh.

His 2019 record, My Name Is Michael Holbrook, was a sort of turning point for MIKA, a healing process. "I had a sense of urgency to transform pain into something beautiful and more hopeful," says MIKA. After writing the album in home studios in Miami and Tuscany over the course of two years, MIKA went to Brussels to record with producers Marc Crew and Dan Priddy. Together they crafted soundscapes spanning different decades of pop tracking the entire album live using vintage synths and enlisting all star players from around the world.

In 2019 and 2020 he took to the road once more, bringing the magic across the UK, US, Europe and beyond. He was part-way through his eastern leg when the pandemic struck and the world changed. But he still managed to keep busy during lockdown. Heartbroken by the devastating explosion in Beirut, Lebanon in MIKA decided to honour his Lebanese heritage by organising an online charity concert in support of the people of Lebanon and the victims of the blast. But this was no ordinary online concert. 'I Love Beirut' featured guest performances from around the world including Kylie Minogue in London, Rufus Wainwright in LA, Mashrou Leila in NYC, Laura Pausini in Rome and Dana Paola in Mexico City, as well as sending a small crew to Beirut itself to meet people on the ground. The result was a truly breathtaking film with moments of joy and sadness, hope and resilience. Fans tuned in from a record-breaking 106 countries around the globe and the concert raised an impressive total of over €1m for Save The Children Lebanon and The Lebanese Red Cross.

After the strangest 18+ months in living memory, MIKA looks forward to being back on the stage in 2022. Through the attitude, energy and movement of MIKA's studied pop performance he provokes this sense of magic. "It's the sort of dangerous energy where anything is possible," he says.

MIKA has also worked with world renowned composer and conductor Simon Leclerc to perform orchestral versions of his many hits, first with L'Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal in Quebec, followed by a special televised performance at the Teatro Sociale in Como, Italy and most recently with two sold out shows in October 2021 at the Philharmonie de Paris in France.

MIKA has been nominated for and won awards from the Brits, the Grammys, the Ivor Novellos, Capital Radio, Q magazine, The NRJs, The World Music Awards, BT and Vodaphone, Virgin Media and MTV's Europe, Asia, Australia and Japan, amongst others. He is also the recipient of the prestigious French award "Chevalier dans l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres". MIKA has now sold over 10 million albums globally and has Gold or Platinum awards in an impressive 32 countries worldwide.

"We don't need perfection. We need character, we need emotion. To feel free to express yourself," says MIKA. "Express yourself, you won't be judged here."

    Mika was Amazing!!!

by jbkbh on 3/30/13El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

I love Mika! I wish they would play his music on US radio. The concert was unbelievable. It was great in a small venue. I have never been so close at a concert! I wish he would come to Arizona. The price was good, so I could travel to California. Wish I could see him again. Mika seems like a genuine person and cars about his fans and having fun. At the end of the show my 15 year old said, " I want to be Mika when i grow up." Mika is very unique, I would highly recommend this concert to anyone who likes Mika!

    by jsteph027 on 10/30/12La Fonda - Hollywood

I walked out of this show completely blown away. The crowd was amazing, the ambiance was extraordinary, and Mika was PHENOMENAL. I plan to go to every show I can, because I promise you every penny is worth it.

First time I went to Mika's concert two years ago and didn't expect anything more than himself on the stage. But it turned out to be an incredibly cute show - there was a story, colorful costumes, visual surprises in almost each song. This time I expected a show, but there was only Mika singing and band playing. So I was kind of disappointed. MIka is a great performer, of course. His smile lights up a room, one his move makes everyone jump along, he has magnificent energy!!! But I didn't like the fan choir and their unappealing church style capes had visible folding marks. I pay for the ticket to watch professionals and prefer that fans stay in audience. Sound quality didn't seem good. Maybe I was standing in a bad spot - close to the speakers, on side, near the stage - so loud, I was afraid to loose my hearing, especially at the time of opening act

The venue was intimate and everyone there was just wanting a good time! Great vibes and Mika is so cute and such an amazing performer!! I can't wait to see him live again someday :) The openers, The Dolls, were great and really started off the concert with a bang! Over all, I couldn't have had a better night!

    Exceeded my expectations

by tr90027 on 10/26/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

I attended this show with a friend of mine who also attended the Sunday show. I went in knowing only 2 of Mika's songs--Grace Kelly and Love Today. The moment he stepped onstage I felt the crowd's excitement and got into the show. He's so adorable and a stellar performer! I would definitely attend another show of his.

    Mika was amazing!

by djgrendellv on 10/26/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

If you want a concert that's joyous, with a hint of campiness (think Erasure), then Mika is for you. He is a great performer and musician. I originally "found" Mika while vacationing in England in 2010 when his single "We Are Golden" debuted, and I've been hooked ever since. Here in the States, Mika doesn't appear to have a big following. He doesn't receive any airplay on the Top-40 stations in Las Vegas... the only other way I know of his existence is from his song on the movie "Kick-Ass" and because my girlfriend is a fan of the video game "Dance Dance Revolution". So I was surprised of the huge following he has in LA. The audience comprised largely of the teenybopper and gay scenes, which I expected, but many older people like me were there as well. His musical style is definitely Pop, which is generally not my turf (I tend to DJ Goth, Industrial, Dark 80's, Glam, and Madchester), but it's got an undeniable twist that you won't get from the likes of Katy Perry or Britney Spears. Mika is an exuberant showman. He's full of energy, often jumping on top of his piano to dance, and his fashion sense is impeccable. His songs more often than not express the joy of life, but can turn toward the sadness we all share in life. Very humanitarian and exceedingly human. And I may be wrong, but his vocal range may border Kate Bush's. A sheer delight to listen and dance to.

    Mika was a marvel!

by Madelyn on 10/24/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

Mika put everything he had into his concert: his voice was incredible and the sound was well-adjusted so that his voice was heard above instrumentals and audience singers (which is good, because I came to hear HIM, not the audience). The staging was well done and he travelled the stage in order to be seen by everyone in the venue. He interacted well with the audience, showed his personality, made everyone happy, and looked as though he was enjoying the concert as much as we were (he may not have been, but one would never know). He kept us entertained and it seemed that the concert was over in a heart beat, even though he performed 19 songs! I went with my daughter, who flew from Utah for the concert. We drove to LA from San Diego and back the same evening and it will be a memory we will always value.

I loooooved both shows! I ha the fortune of being there both nights, and both shows were incredible, the place was small, so the show was very intimate! AC could've been better, but I am sure it wasn't his fault! Very recommended

    Mika - An Unforgettable Night!

by LizzyB3262 on 10/23/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

Fabulous evening for all ages! I cant believe I was able to see him such a small venue. He plays stadiums in Europe. Such a talented performer. Reminds me a bit of a cross between Mick Jagger and Prince. Gorgeous voice. No auto tune needed! Most importantly his songs/music really touched my heart. I felt so happy. I was moved. His fans are devoted and know the words to all of his songs and he encourages everyone to participate in his concerts and that is such a blast as well. Hats off to this wonderful performer. I hope he sticks around for a very, very long time. The Music Box (Henry Fonda Theatre) is great as well. Totally fixed up. The balcony was great for those who dont want to stand. Upstairs bar and bathrooms, so very convenient. Bathroom was so nice and clean. Sounds silly to mention, but important for us gals. I have seen shows from the floor as well and that is always fun too, but you have to stand for hours. Doors opened at 8. There was a line around the block and Mika didnt come on until 10.
