It was an excellent tribute and performance Mickey Gilley provided. I really enjoyed his jokes and the background of his career over the years.
My wife and I have seen Mickey many times, Three times in Branson,Johnson City, TN, In Kentucky ?, Dollywood,TN. Little Nashville in IN. We enjoyed him and his Crew every time we see them. We saw his Show in Little Nashville, IN the night his Theater burnt in Branson Mo. We feel Joey really added to the Show in fact we bought the DVD with Mickey and Joey. We didn't know he had died until we bought the DVD. We live in Ohio and we planned to go to Raising Star,IN. and stayed there over night and watched to DVD that night after to Show.
Great show, voice is good, band was good, the story telling was fantastic, the show is not just him singing but sharing of his life. The ticket price was worth every penny, my wife and I don't listen to county music and we even enjoyed it.
The show was a great mix of him performing his music and clips of moments throughout his career. We had a great time!! At 77, he's still got it!
Mickey Gilley is a true entertainer. We have seen him in 2011 and 2012 in Branson, Mo. and again at the IP. The entire show was fantastic - he is so personable, talented and connects with the audience. He is a wonderful singer and storyteller.
Not as good as last years show We didn't sit in our original seat because they were terrible.
Mickey looked great for a man with 3 broken bones in his neck. Not only did he sing most of his 17 number 1 hit, but he gave you the back story on them. His voice was strong. I hope he will be playing the piano again soon.
The show was well put together, his band was awesome, the girls that sang as his back up music had beautiful voices, cute to boot.. The storey of Mickey Gilleys life was nice and the songs he sang were good. It was a nice experience seeing a legend. I feel he may not be performing much longer so we were glad to have had the opportunity to see him.
this was a great show. music was good. jokes were very entertaining. loved it!
I had forgotten how old Mickey was and learning of his accident that left him paralyzed for awhile. Yet, he was up there sounding as good as he did when he was younger and in good health. His voice sounded good and his interaction with the crowd was great as he told his story of his career intermixed with his songs that I love. It was a great show well worth the price even though they over booked it and hastily had to bring in more seats, It was great!
It was just like a his Branson's show. Over all good.
Mickey Gilley's performance at the Monroe Civic Center was amazing. He still has that magical spark that captivates audiences and leaves them begging for more. Mickey is truly a Louisiana legend.
3rd time seeing him perform. Missed his comedian sidekick. Can't wait to see him again.
Mickey started almost right on time after a little intro by his guitarist who warmed up the crowd w/ some info and jokes. He put on a fantastic show w/ his long-time band and 2 lovely backup singers. Went close to 1 hour and a half w/ no intermissions. Kept it exciting w/ his classic slow and fast songs pretty much chronologically sung. Also, Mickey talked quite a bit and was very entertaining. Highly recommended.
Beautiful voice. The sound stage could of been louder. I loved the whole evening.
My huband and I went to see Mickey Gilley at IP Casino in Biloxi and he was great! He was very entertaining! Mickey and Joey Riley were so good together! It was a great show!
In spite of his infirmities, Mickey put on a fantastic show. I don't think he left out any of his great hits. His voice is strong - he still sounds the same. The band was great! The backup singers were great and did solos. Mr, Gilley has a great sense of humor - there were a lot of laughs during the show. His steel player, Joey Riley is so funny! He was the icing on the cake. His humor was very funny - and it wasn't raunchy. There is far too much of that these days and it was good to laugh at something that wasn't dirty. We really enjoyed the show.
Thoroughly enjoyed the show. The band was very entertaining.
I realized he was somewhat restricted in his movement due to his back injury, but he moved enough to be better than most. He is not only a great performer he is a great entertainer. Me and my date, both in our earlier 70's, had a great time and would go back and see him again the next time he is in the area. His supporting band, etc., did a fine job
