Not enough healthy choice food options for wrestlers. Need more fruit and deli sandwich options.
The app was easy to use and a great way to order tickets for an event.
The seats are way to crowded and you have to sit there for hours before you watch who you wanna watch and you have no clue when he’s gonna wrestle because there is no bracket/schedule and the food is way overpriced and not healthy for the wrestles. Terrible set up
This was a great event! Everyone who worked this event was outstanding!! There are a lot of people that volunteer their time for these kind of things and my hope is that they all feel appreciated!!
During the competition, medical staff and officials stood in the line of sight of the spectators. Event staff did ask coaches and athletes to step back, but failed to ask officials and medical staff to either sit or step away from the mats while spectating. Nobody should stand near mats. It’s not a big ask to sit or step away so spectators in the stands can view the matches. If your not officiating or providing medical attention to an athlete, sit or step away from the mat so fans can watch.
What an amazing show of focus, determination and sportsmanship! I watched from start to finish and was in awe of each and every athlete, coach and members if the staff. Well put together and will be back next season!💪❤️
Ford Field is probably the worst venue to host this event. From the constant black rubber pellets being on the mats, to the mats moving all over the field, to having to retape in between sessions, and let's not even start to discuss the warm up area, this event needs to get better. Parking costs are through the roof. Food in the venue is out of control ($10 for a slice of pizza...$7 for a bottle of water?). Hosting a high school event at a place that is strictly about making money = one of the worst combinations you could ask for. From a fan experience, Ford Field is not suited to host wrestling. You simply can't see anything except the mats you are in front of. Anyone will tell you that the Palace was exponentially better, and I hope that Mark Uhl and the MHSAA read this and start to realize that this venue just isn't suited to host the high school wrestling finals. Go back to the 3 day event, find a venue that can handle 12-15 mats, and make it about the kids. Think about this. You have over 1,000 high school athletes competing and this venue WILL NOT ALLOW them to bring food in to fuel up for their competition. How crazy is that? There are so many options out there that would provide for a better experience, and forcing people to continue to put up with this venue is disappointing and I hope that the MHSAA will start to listen to it's coaches, fans, and athletes. Go back to same day weigh in, go back to a 3 day event with multiple weigh ins, and find a venue that truly makes this an amazing experience that kids will remember. Bottom line....MHSAA Be Better!
The event was great! Food and drink prices were ridiculous and the waiting outside was less than pleasant. The tape wasn’t sticking to the mats and that was not good or safe for the wrestlers.
I believe that the event ran pretty smoothly… My only concern would be the mats. It seemed like they weren’t staying together very well. Also seen kids tripping on the tape joints
