The sound engineer should have gotten to the gig early enough to checked the sound quality of Rodrigo Teaser's hand held mic, then moved on to the sound quality and volume of the secondary and tertiary components. If it weren't for knowing the lyrics, 70% of what Rodrigo was singing was unintelligible. Mr. Teaser's singing was garbled and had a monotonous static. If that wasn't enough, the volume of Rodrigo's singing was drowned out by dominant non-specific "boomy and distorted" mudded sound. "Rodrigo Tease: Michael Lives Forever" was a better than good visual production, sadly compromised by an amateur sound engineering experience. The Wiltern Theatre, where this experience took place [for me], is, historically, one of the best closed acoustic venues in Los Angeles County. My recommendation is trash the handheld mic. Get a quality headset microphone for Rodrigo Teaser, like the one Michael Jackson used throughout his touring performances.
