    Michael Franti & Spearhead!!!!

by FrantiFanatic on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

I have seen this band 4 times over the past year and still cant get enough. Michael is fun of energy and really keeps the crowd JUMPING. I would suggest that if you dont know the music you should still attended. I bet by the end of the night you will be saying Hey Hey I love you

    Great show but horrible sound.

by Mmmusic on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

This is the second time I've seen Franti and just like last time at the Nokia Theatre he had tons of energy, the band played well and it was a fun show. Unlike last time the sound was terrible. I know it's not the venue because my wife has seen other shows there that sounded good. I really don't understand why the sound guy found it necessary to boost the bass frequencies so much that it lost any resemblance to music. I love feeling the bass as much as anyone but I'd like to be able to hear it as well. Unfortunately all I could hear was a fluttery rumble most of the time. I'll definitely go see Franti again but I'm hoping for an outdoor venue next time.

    Did not dissapoint!

    by DmbFan17 on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

This was my first time seeing Michael Franti & Spearhead, so I had no idea what it'd be like. They put on a great show. The music never stopped and the crowd was totally into it. Their opening act, Los Amigos Invisibles, is one of my favorite bands and they did a great job of getting the crowd warmed up. Franti was very much in tune with the crowd and he played to all audiences, the rockers and reggae lovers. The lighting on stage was pretty poor b/c in effect it kept blinding the audience. I love Terminal 5 though, b/c you cannot get a bad view anywhere in the venue.

    Power to the Peaceful!

by Selomand on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

Franti always knows how to bring the house down and Terminal 5 was no exception. Spearhead played a fantastic setlist of mostly newer material with the usual support by the vivacious Cherrine Anderson. The crowd was also incredible and really helped make the show much more than just music but a shared positive experience. The vibes and love at his shows are unmatched by anyone in the music business. The openers, "Los Amigos" I believe, were surprisingly fun and good musicians. They had a good energy that got everyone pumped for Franti to do his thing. As usualy Franti spent a good 30 minutes after the show greeting as many fans as possible with giant bear hugs and positive energy. If you ever get the chance to see them live please do, you won't regret it!

    Spearhead was Better last year.

by Padness on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

The first time I seen spearhead was with Ziggy Marley years ago and I didn't even know who they where but they rocked. Last night the show was a little weak. There was too much acoustic and they left out some key songs. Also it was too short!! Last year at the Nokia center the show was much more alive. I'll still go see them. If there going to play shows that short they should double headline with a good reggae artist. Or open for Steel Pulse!!

    Celebrate the Good!

    by DonnaMarie71 on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

My words cannot do justice to Michael Franti and Spearhead! As ALWAYS the energy level was positively through the roof! I have seen this band play many times, in many venues and have to say Terminal 5 provided the most personal experience ever. The sound was phenom, the band tight, Michael brilliant and all the Freaky People most beautiful! From the opening Lil Bit of Riddim to the closing with Say Hey! It was a moving, energizing and emotionally engaging event. CELEBRATE THE GOOD~

    fantastic and always getting better

by forbiddencolors on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

Michael Franti is a peaceful positive musical activist. His songs are about making the world a better place, making ourselves better people, and celebrating the beauty in how different we all are. What makes his shows amazing and that he can sing such uplifting stories and poems and ROCK at the same time. Micheal and Spearhead have had so many different sounds over the years but their sounds have never felt contrived. I think he's just sharing the music as he feels it, and sometimes its more punk edged, sometime more rap, or reggae, or funk, or folk, or rock, but it always feels really honest and inspirational.

    Amazing

    by NYC5 on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

Michael Franti is amazing live. His message is amazing and he really rocked as well. The concert was so diverse as they moved from rock to reggae to softer numbers where he was sitting on a stool with his acoustic guitar. The beat of this music is fantastic and we left the show feeling awesome.

    Franti left me wanting more...

by Fropper on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

As usual a Michael Franti and Speahead show had great energy. Constantly moving and jumping to the rythym. The Terminal 5 venue is the largest that I've seen him play. This made it very enjoyable to not always be bumping into people. His music never gets boring or monotonous and yes, i'm seeing him again in Central Park Tomorrow.

    Franti Rocked the House!

    by Leigh13 on 9/2/09Terminal 5 - New York

Michael Franti and Spearhead once again put on a great show! I was pretty close to the stage and the crowd was warm and welcoming, as always. They performed an ode to MJ and Michael even moonwalked across the stage! The energy was amazing and the show was A+!
