The Bay-Area native resides in Bali when he is not on tour and owns Soulshine Bali, a 32-room top-rated boutique hotel located in Ubud, Bali that focuses on joy through wellness and music, offering unique retreat opportunities and accommodations, along with special events and celebrations. Franti continues to foster community both on and off stage with a wish granting non-profit, Do It For The Love, which brings those with life threatening illnesses, veterans, and children with severe challenges to concerts worldwide, fulfilling over 3,500 wishes and touching the lives of over 15,000 people to date.
Concert was great. I am amazed that the entire band and Michael can go at that pace for the entire concert. We were amazed that Michael came through the entire audience and even the balcony. How is it his bare feet don't get stomped? It was great to hear so many of the song done just a little differently than on the albums.
This was a high-energy performance that was a lot of fun. I was worn out by he end. THe music was great, Michael is a great entertainer as well as a singer/songwriter/musician. I expected a good show and it it surpassed my expectations. It was a lot of fun.
LOVED the show!!! Loved, loved, loved it. He walked through the crowd as he sang a song - he grabbed my hand!!! He sang from the balcony too. And he had all the kids come up on stage for a song - kids under 15 and over 60 - and he boggied with a hip 69-year-old woman! Crowd was on their feet the whole time - jumpin'!!!
This band is talented! I have been to many concerts but never had such a great time as this one. The mixture of age groups in the crowd was so nice to see! The music and energy in the room was all positive and I felt inspired when I left. I would recommend going to everyone!
I had an amazing time and cannot wait for him to come back again.
The intimate setting of the State Theater was a perfect venue for this concert. We stood up the entire concert, danced, jumped , clapped, raised or hands, etc. Michael really knows how to energize an audience. Despite being on our feet for 2 hours, we never felt tired or wanted to sit down the whole time. They way he engaged his audience was also amazing, he brought people on stage, he walked throught the aisles and even went up into the balcony. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
He was very involved with the audience. They put on a wonderful show and are very inspirational.
Michael Franti and Spearhead provided an atmosphere of joy and acceptance that rocked the State Theatre! Kickin' set list with a perfect combination of classic Franti and new Sound of Sunshine material. Very high energy and lots of crowd interaction! Michael Franti is AMAZING!
The Concert wasamazing Micheal is super high energy, the crowd was on their feet dancing getting into it the whole time, I've never been to a concert where the people were more involved. He came out in the audience and played a couple of times, we in the balcony At State Theatre (a great venue to see concerts) He came up and played went though the crowd, stood and played right next to us, brought kids and people over sixty up on the stage for his last song, I'd see him again any time, the concert left me charged and full of energy, and for a moment I felt young again, dancing and getting into the music like I was 20 not 50
High Energy!! Lots of Fun & crowd involvement! Entertaining for everyone there, from 6 year olds to 60.
This was my first Michael Franti show and it was a lot of fun. The crowd was up and dancing the minute he came out and started playing. His songs have an up beat and he really engages the audience in his show. I only sat down for two songs the whole time. He came out into the audience while he was playing and not just on the main floor, but he also went up into the balcony. The crowd was mixed in age with kids up to seniors. For the last song he had the kids in the audience as well as anyone over 60 come up onto the stage, and there were definitely more kids than seniors. It was a fun night and I'd recommend Michael Franti and Spearhead to anyone that wants to feel good for 2 hours.
Michael Franti is one of the most high vibe performers in today's world. Electric, authentic, engaging, passionate and conscious. Why in the world do you need to sell alcohol at an event of such caliber? Alcohol dulls the senses, makes mush of the mind and gives a false social intimacy. Through his music, soul and performance alone Franti can provide intimacy and help quiet the mind; we don't need booze to do it. People could drink b/4 or after the performance on their own time. Sad to see booze encroaching every good thing nowaways, especially when children were ther.e
This was a fabulous concert and I will definitely see him again!!! It was a concert that I left feeling so happy that I went but bummed it had to end.
I have been to a few concerts in my day but Michael Franti and Spearhead were the best concert that I have ever been to. There was so much energy and love! I enjoyed all of it. I will go again for sure!
Michael was amazing and made everyone there feel like they were a part of the show. He walks off stage and interacts with everyone, that is rare with most musicians anymore, but he is a real person and it shows in his music and he has not forgotten that his fans are important.
Took the kids this time and they had a blast! Will go for sure when he comes back!
I have seen Michael Franti & Spearhead on numerous occasions now, and I have never ever felt like I didn't get my money's worth and then some. It is such an uplifting experience - better than going to church! I hadn't had the opportunity to hear his new material prior to the show. He did a LOT of that material and I can't wait to go buy the new CD. His show is always high energy with positive vibes emanating from him and throughout the audience. I am also happy to note that he looked much healthier than when I saw him open for John Mayer a few months ago. :)
I absolutely LOVE this band! This was my second time seeing them and the first time for my best friend that I brought and she had a BLAST! Anytime they are in the area I will go back! Just love how he loves his fans sooooo much! He's not in it for the fame or the money but just to make his fans happy!!!!!
Great interactive show at a great venue...would pay to see Michael Franti again any time he's playing in St. Louis
I brought a friend who did not know who Franti and Spearhead were. He is a fan now. Franti involves the audience and physically interacts with them. He was all over the venue, He probably hugged or touched hands with 90% of the audience. They were amazing, the performance was great. The pageant is a great venue for a performer like franti. He will be in Columbia MO next week and I wish I could see him then too!
