Thoroughly enjoyed the setting and the music. Hope he comes back with The Music of Elton John next year.
Picnic with the pops is always enjoyable. Mike had a wide range of Billy Joel songs plus some extra crowd pleasers. Enjoyed the evening.
Michael has a big personality and was so much fun. He is very talented. Looking forward to his Elton John show.
Very nice music and a great, relaxing evening. Great locale.
It was a beautiful night and he has a great voice, BUT for being titled Billy Joel there wasn't nearly enough. Although many Billy songs were played including some orchestral ones, there was too much other stuff mixed in: Elton John, Jerry Lee Lewis, and other classics. I like all those artists and songs, but I came for Billy Joel and frankly there wasn't nearly enough. It turned into a more of a let's see if we can get the older members in the audience excited. I wouldn't recommend it.
Wildly entertaining. Great enthusiasm. Wonderful singing, excellent piano playing as well as other instruments. Shout out to his sax player too.
Michael was a fantastic showman - what a great event.
Great evening at the Columbus Picnic with the Pops. Michael Cavanaugh is a great performer. Would love to see his Elton John show.
We enjoyed Michael Cavanaugh very much. The evening at the Columbus Commons was wonderful.
Great show good energy the band is awesome and Michael sings the heck out of the songs!
As always, the Picnic with the Pops event was very enjoyable. I thought the music was great, but it felt like they didn't play very long. A break in between sets is recommended to stretch it out a bit. Also, I highly recommend moving the event back out to the Horse Park. That is a much more enticing venue.
We had a wonderful time at the Picnic with the Pops. It was a great event, we had perfect weather, and even my two year old daughter loved it. The music was great and the food trucks were amazing. I just wish I had known we could take chairs (the website for the event only said you could bring a blanket) as the ground and blankets collect dew as the evening goes on and it gets chilly and damp.
If you are a Billy Joel fan, you will enjoy this performance. Great renditions of some of Billy Joel's most beloved songs by a very talented and engaging artist. The TSO also sounded wonderful accompanying Mr Cavanaugh.
I was absolutely blown away by this performer and performance. If you appreciate Billy Joel, Elton John, Chuck Berry, etc., this is the guy for you. He and his band are absolutely fantastic and I could not keep still. Really superb and I smiled for days afterwards - honest!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed this show - not only was Michael and his band members spectacular but having the Tucson Symphony Orchestra behind him was tremendous!! He is a very special musician and refreshing in his easy, comfortable way with his delivery. We happen to be Billy Joel (and Elton John) fans and felt he did a terrific job presenting their music.
Low energy show. Decent but nothing too spectacular.
We went to this event because a friend suggested it. We had never heard of about Michael Cavenaugh. What a wonderful surprise it was to hear and see this man perform. He is multi talented and kept the audience enthralled during the whole performance with his engaging personality, pleasant singing, and excellent piano playing….plus brief performances with other instruments. His back up players were great performers also. His obvious good rapport and interaction with them and with George Hanson and the Tucson Symphony was fun to watch. The selection of music was nostalgic and fun and very well performed by everyone on the stage. The group earned a well deserved standing ovation.
Michael Cavanaugh always gives an energetic, fun-filled performance. His talent is amazing and he always seems like he's having the time of his life!
Great crowd pleaser of a show. Michael Kavanaugh connected with an audience of varied ages with songs we could all relate to. He and his band were great and to be backed up by the Akron Symphony was truly a pleasure to one's ears. I would whole heartedly recommend a Michael Kavanaugh concert to everyone who enjoys music!
Michael Cavenaugh was remarkable. He not only played excellent piano, but also guitar, harmonica, percussion and saxaphone. My husband said if you tied a drum on his back and a cymbal on his knee he'd be a one man band! Very talented man who looks like he's barely out of his teens. Oh, and the symphony was excellent, as always.
