About

Michael Bolton is a multi Grammy Award-winning Singer/Songwriter and Emmy nominated performer, who has sold more than 65 million records worldwide and continues to tour the globe.

Celebrating more than 50 years of contributions to the entertainment industry, Michael has seen 9 studio albums rank in the Top Ten, with 9 #1 singles.  Bolton reveals his timeless relevance with a collection of freshly written songs in his newest album Spark of Light, featuring the single "Beautiful World" which debuted on NBC's American Song Contest. His previous album A SYMPHONY OF HITS, which hit #1 on the Billboard Classical Chart, is a selection of his favorite Greatest Hits newly arranged and recorded with a full symphony orchestra.

In recognition of his artistic achievements, Michael won 2 Grammys for Best Pop Male Vocal Performance (nominated four times), 6 American Music Awards, and a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  As a songwriter, he has earned over 24 BMI & ASCAP Awards, including Songwriter of the Year, 9 Million-Air awards, and the Hitmakers Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Internationally renowned, Michael has collaborated with musical icons that have inspired his own career, such as Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Renee Fleming, BB King, Bob Dylan and -- perhaps his greatest influence -- Ray Charles.

Michael has written hit singles impacting the careers of artists such as Laura Branigan ("How Am I Supposed to Live Without You"), KISS ("Forever"), Barbra Streisand ("We're Not Making Love Anymore"), Cher ("I Found Someone"), and Kenny G ("By the Time this Night is Over").

Bolton's signature success was seized with the 12x platinum album Soul Provider, showcasing chart-toppers like the #1 hit single "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You," which earned Michael his first Grammy.  This pivotal album also includes the hit singles "How Can We Be Lovers," "Soul Provider," and the Grammy-nominated "Georgia on My Mind."

The next #1 album Time, Love & Tenderness, sold over 16 million copies world-wide and features his Grammy Award-winning vocal performance of the blockbuster hit "When A Man Loves a Woman."

Michael's songs have been featured in film soundtracks, including the Oscar-nominated theme song "Go the Distance" from Walt Disney's blockbuster animation Hercules and the title song for the Russell Crowe film Fathers & Daughters.  Relevant to multiple generations, his songs are frequently heard on Idol, The Voice, Got Talent and X-Factor all around the world.

Bolton became a viral sensation in The Lonely Island's Emmy-nominated video, "Captain Jack Sparrow" that launched on Saturday Night Live and has racked up over a quarter billion views on YouTube. His TV cameos span hit shows such as Two and a Half Men, Glee, Fresh off the Boat, Last Week Tonight and Billions.

Known for his soulful voice and poignant lyrics, his timeless charm and good looks have also earned him a spot in several "People Magazine's Sexiest Man" issues, including "Sexiest Man Alive."

As an executive producer, he co-created and starred in the original Netflix show Michael Bolton's Big Sexy Valentine's Special, as well as The Celebrity Dating Game, ABC's musical spin on the beloved dating gameshow, ranking #1 in its primetime slot.

Michael is especially proud of the initiatives carried out by his own foundation, the The Michael Bolton Charities, which has been advocating on behalf of women and children at risk for more than 25 years.

In his autobiography, "The Soul of it All", Bolton states he is just teeing off on the back nine of his career.

    Bolton still has it

by baldwinlove on 8/22/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

Michael Bolton still sounds great as he did on his album. I enjoyed the show. I would have like to hear some more of his own songs and it could have been a little longer. His gutair and saxaphone player were awsome.

Michael Bolton put on a great performance!

by BryanScottWhiteman on 8/16/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

I bought the tickets to Michael Bolton for a girl... I wasn't very excited to go to say the least. After seeing him perform and listen to him talk in between songs, he proves to not only be an amazing singer, but great person. I would honestly go back to see him the next time he plays in the area. He sang many classics and the guy's voice is probably one of the best that are still out there today.

    Excellent performance

by breu on 8/15/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

Michael Bolton's concert was great. Especially the first part with the more classic songs. The last song was a odd. Michael played the guitar and the music was not easily recognizable, just loude noise, not much else. By skipping this last song, the concert would be perfect. Michael Bolton should stay with the songs he is good at.

    It was Okay

by southerngaltoo on 8/15/09Beau Rivage Theatre - Biloxi

I had seen Michael Bolton perform many years ago in a packed colisium and the energy was off the scale. Although this time was in a small casino theater where it seemed more personal, I felt that he (Michael) was just going through the motions and singing as if his entertaining had become just a job. His band was energetic and that made it enjoyable but overall my expectations were not met. It is sad because I think Michael Bolton has a fabulous voice, but maybe like the rest of us, he's getting older and just tired.

by doll3947 on 8/4/09Orpheum Theatre Sioux City - Sioux City

We were disappointed in our seats being so far away from the stage, since we had purchased them back in June. He is a wonderful singer and thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

Michael Bolton gave a New York City Performance

by applepiegirl on 8/4/09Orpheum Theatre Sioux City - Sioux City

Two hours of top music selections.....accompanied by a ten star band.....voice was superior......I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed Michael Bolton. He went way beyond our expections as a singer, relating to his audience. I liked the fact that picture taking was allowed so that fans could really have wonderful momentos of the evening. I will gladly go to see Michael again if he comes to the Siouxland area.

    better than expected

by rory2 on 8/4/09Orpheum Theatre Sioux City - Sioux City

I took my wife to this concert for her birthday and figured it was something I would have to sit through. His first few songs were from the 80's and was about what I expected. Then he did Sitt'n On the Dock and it was the best I've heard since Otis Redding. Then he did some great old classics from the big band era and really hit them. His final encore was Georgia On My Mind and he had saved the best for last. He was engaging, humorous and worked at keeping the audience involved. I have to admit that I really enjoyed the concert.

    Move over Luciano!!

by Mrsbeasy on 8/3/09Orpheum Theatre Sioux City - Sioux City

The night was very memorable! I grew up on Big Band music (in fact, my dad still watches old Lawrence Welk shows on PBS and I know the words to a lot of the music) so it was nice to be able to sing along last night. But when he sang "Nessun Dorma" - WOW! Gave me goosebumps! Thanks, Michael, for choosing to include Sioux City on your tour!!

    Michael Bolton was awsome

by nanner5 on 8/3/09Orpheum Theatre Sioux City - Sioux City

The variety was great and presented in such good way. I was interested that he changed outfits twice to fit the mood and there wasn't a lull in the action. The back-up band was so intertaining to watch also.

    Michael was unbelievable

by annewah on 8/3/09Orpheum Theatre Sioux City - Sioux City

This was one of the best concerts I've seen in a while. I enjoyed the way he "went back in time" and gave us songs to remember. I still have my 45 by Ottis Redding, "Sitting on the dock of the Bay". No one sounds quite like Michael Bolton.
