Theatre of 3/4th empty, but we had poor sight lines
by Show was great. Venue needs improvements on 3/29/24Meridian Hall - TorontoI thought the show was great but we were so far back I couldn’t appreciate all the dancing. Also, because of the way our seats were, we couldn’t see what was happening on the right side of the stage. There’s absolutely no reason that every seat in the theatre is unable to give a full view of the stage. This was upsetting. It was also annoying that we had these really bad seats, when 3/4th of the theatre was empty. So the tickets weren’t sold out? Or what exactly happened that we got such bad seats in an empty theatre? Seats weren’t properly elevated either—the lady in front of me blocked my view and we blocked the people behind us. The seats are sooooo cramped. Give people a little room to breathe. I also spent the entire time getting a hole in each leg from the cup holders. What is the point of those? No one can reach their cups if they’re at that angle. I can’t believe it’s $3 for coat check! I’m sorry, but why do I need to pay to hang my own jacket? What a ridiculous rule. Obviously I didn’t do it but then I had to hang onto my giant coat because it was a cold day outside and boiling inside and that further leant to the cramped feeling on the theatre. I received several emails prompting me to come early so there wouldn’t be a bottle neck at entry, and then we spent so much time standing and waiting for the doors to open. We could have been let inside earlier to be seated. And there was no order to being let in, there was a bottle neck because entry is disorganized. Bathrooms were nice though. What’s the point of such a giant hall full of seats if you can’t see anything after a certain point?
