Texas-based Memphis May Fire has become one of the hottest metal-core tickets around, with a unique blend of post-hardcore, Southern rock, and powerful live performances. Their rhythms are tight, they know how to shred, and lead singer Matty Mullins controls a crowd like no other -- he’ll have the audience moshing like crazy one minute, inspiring them with stories about the band overcoming adversity the next. In 2012, Memphis blew away crowds during their Main Stage set at the Vans Warped Tour, and immediately followed that up with a high-profile European tour with Of Mice & Men, an American tour with Asking Alexandria, and a victory lap on the 2013 Warped Tour. And in the middle of all that, they released the album Challenger, which debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 with the defiant and incredible song “Prove Me Right.”
It’s nothing new for the band, though. All the way back in 2009, the band’s very first album, Sleepwalking, generated to the popular single “Ghost In The Mirror,” which was featured on the Saw VI soundtrack, and earned the band recognition as one of Revolver Magazine’s Top 25 Under 25. Since then, they’ve released two more albums and toured the world, but they’re not done yet. In 2014, they’ll continue to push forward, not only releasing their fourth album, which Mullins describes as more mature and more orchestral, but they’ll also be playing more concert dates in the UK and beyond.

Memphis may fire always rocks hard they never disappoint
Incredible performance by the boys—as always! Everything was tight: lights, effects, crew, sound and absolutely the musicians. Stellar performance! If you’re new to metal, check out their album “Remade in Misery”. Then just keep going to the rest of them—there are 8! Newest is Shapeshifter. Venue was solid! Parking a little tricky with all the construction but easily remedied with a little walking. The ONLY “note” I’d offer would be about the merch tables downstairs. It bottlenecked at the first table so the line jammed up while the first people in line blocked the other tables. It’s a cozy venue though, so not much to be done about needing a little more elbow room. I’d give the crowd at this show a 5/5, as well. Metal fans are so good to each other(usually!)
As always MMF put on a killer show! We had platinum VIP so we got a private soundcheck and they played 3 songs that weren't on their setlist. We each got pics with the band and then they hung out with everyone and signed posters/records and other things and I got individual pics with each of the guys, they are all so nice! All they other bands were great too!
I have seen these guys multiple times and this was the best show yet! Loved the set list and everyone was great!
Memphis May Fire was absolutely amazing!! Their show is so high energy and these guys are so talented and are exceptional human beings. Can’t wait to see them live again soon!! The other bands (Elijah, Windwalkers and Caskets) were also incredibly fun to see live. If you’re debating whether to see a Memphis May Fire show, just do it! 11/10 would recommend.
I love seeing MMF in concert, the Summit venue is a little small and crowded for concerts, especially when it comes to mosh pits. Besides the size I enjoyed the concert a lot, all the artists did really well.
We got there later then usual, because of other commitments but still had a great time. There was plenty of parking, security was great and fast, and the bar staff was awesome. It sounded like the show started a little bit later than it was supposed to, but that just ment we missed less. The band put on a great performance and I got another guitar pic to add to my collection!
Awesome show. All the bands sounded great but Wind Walkers was my favorite performance. Their vocalist, Trevor, has an incredible voice and truly knows how to sing live. He’s also super nice, he took the time to say hi to my girlfriend and I and chatted with us for a bit. So glad to have gotten a picture with him. I will definitely be attending the next show whenever they’re in town again.
I was asked to leave an honest review and not something inflated. I am a huge Memphis May Fire fan, and the other bands like Wind Walkers and Elijah were good too. In this case, the lackluster response was not due to this being an LA show. The sound was off, there was too much terrible and oversaturation in the speakers. I would have preferred the sound loudness have been turned down, that might have helped the oversaturation. The bands were great, but in my 40s, I am no longer a pit enthusiast. I enjoyed it for the music, again great, but sound kind of did a disservice to the bands.
I go to rock concerts often, but this was the first one I really considered walking out of. The sound was set up horribly. First, it was way too loud, but more importantly, everything was so cranked up I could hardly hear the main singer, couldn’t understand what he was singing, nor could I hear the melodies of the songs. That’s the fault of the sound tech but it also reflects poorly on the bands who played and the venue. I will definitely think twice before seeing these bands, and coming to this venue again.
They continue to outperform and it was cool seeing so many new fans in the venue.
Although caskets didn't get to play their set MMF finished the show on a strong note.
Memphis Mayfire was amazing. Love how they don't resort to swearing at all during their show. Matty Mullins is maybe the best singer/growler I've ever seen. Atreyu surprised me... They're tight and have great sound.
The guys were super friendly at the meet n greet and put on an absolutely amazing show!
Great show by Memphis May Fire. I would definitely see them again in a heartbeat. Awesome stage presence and they kept the crowd pumped the entire show.
Another awesome show put on by Memphis May Fire. These guys are so much fun to watch and always give you 100%. I drove 4 hours roundtrip to see them and would do it again. The State Theatre is one of those iconic venues that makes you feel like your home.
We had great time - great concert! We got to meet some of the members of Saul before the show, but it would have been great to have been able to get a meet & greet with Saul or MMF!
Memphis May Fire puts on a hell of a show! I didn’t know a lot of their music and was there for a band that was touring with them, From Ashes to New, and ended up loving their music and their vibe. They were energetic, had amazing stage presence, and kept the crowd going straight through to the end. And one thing we don’t see enough of any more … they did a song with a a band member from FATN which is friggin amazing. Overall…this is a band you don’t want to sleep on. See them love if you get a chance. You won’t regret it.
T H E BEST early bday gift I could have given myself!!! I sang every song at the top of my lungs! Definitely WORTH IT!!!! Memphis May Fire N E V E R disappoints!!
