  • So amazingly great!!!

by Josh in D on 9/23/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Seen the Melvin’s from a distance 2x but this show at Howard in DC was first chance to see them up close, soaking in all the syrupy glory. What a sound! The alternate drummer they had (sorry can’t remember his name) was just fantastic - hits the drums with such force. Bass player was super fun, almost prog metal at times. And then Buzz, well, he’s a freak in all the best ways. My only complaint was Melvins should have clearly been the headliner. Even still, one of my top all time shows and I’ve seen many. Hope they come back!!

  • Bloody amazing!

The show was fantastic, both The Melvins and Boris are beyond great musicians, all I can say is WOW! I'm so glad I got to see the, both. Great venue, smaller, intimate and great acoustics.

  • Killer show

Cody slayed them drums. Steve was extra Steve. Buzzo was all business. Missed seeing Dale. Still a Great Show.

  • Gonna try to go again

    by Brock. B. on 9/10/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Exactly what I wanted out of their show. Great performances by all 3 of them, played some favorites with a few deep cuts. Gonna try to see them again on this same tour!

  • Amazing

Great venue, great beer selection, and the band was amazing. The opening band was even awesome. This was my first time at this venue but I will definitely return to see any shows like this one.

So glad they came to a place like Jackson, MS where we rarely get to see bands like this. Great show and hope they come back.

  • WOW, 1st Time Melvins Show

by Gürt on 10/3/22The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely Incredible. I was introduced to the Houdini Album years ago by a drum teach, Almost a decade and 3 attempts later, I was finally able to attend my first show (9/30 Asbury Park, NJ) with a few friends. I'm not super familiar with a lot of their material outside of Bullhead and Houdini, while reviewing some more of their material and reading wikipedia over the last 2 days before the show I was worried it might become a more experimental show than I had expected and that I might be pushed out of my familiarity. Thankfully, my worries were not true and they played an INCREDIBLE set and absolutely destroyed. Dale Crover joins my list of one of the best drummers I've ever seen live. Go. See. Them.

  • Loved the Melvins

by B Bunny on 10/2/22Irving Plaza - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Great mix of retro metal, punk, new wave. I imagined the slam dancing that would have taken place back in the day.

  • Best touring heavy rock band in the world?

by Andy from NYC on 10/2/22Irving Plaza - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I've been a MELVINS fan since 1997 or so, and seen them in numerous iterations. I've got to say that the current trio brings all the wild precision power that MELVINS have always had live, complete with huge dynamic shifts and fantastic showmanship. Steve McDonald's addition on bass to the lineup has injected a level of fun to the mix, that has taken the group's shows to a whole 'nother level, tho. His fantastically funky bass contributions, cheeky kicks and rock star poses for the fans has taken this band into the superlative category. (It's quite possible they were equally excellent with the Big Business rhythm section in the band, but MELVINS have never been so FUN to see live as this current lineup). If they're coming to your town, go see them! They just may be the best heavy rock show on the road today! Ps. Props to Irving Plaza's security for being really really nice, and super attentive and helpful with a my dropped phone over the barrier - they put it back in my hands almost before I realized I'd lost it!

  • Amazing!!!

    by Richard on 10/2/22Tellus 360 - LancasterRating: 5 out of 5

Venue was very cool, small so you could get up close, Melvins rocked the place so hard, I was awe struck like looking into the face of gods.

  • The Melvins in Bethlehem PA

by Kelvin on 7/19/22Musikfest Cafe - BethlehemRating: 5 out of 5

Great show- King Buzzo was ominous, bassist is a true showman and drummer is a thunderous beast. Enjoyed opening acts who ALL brought it especially the ferocious lady drummer. Can’t wait to see it all again this Sept in NYC !
