    Great Show

by Jim on 6/15/23The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red Bank

Melody is a first rate singer. I’m looking forward to seeing her again and hearing more songs from her. The food at the Aztec Mexican restaurant year people told us about was great too. What an exciting night my friends and I had. Thanks

    Chemistry

by Dragonfly on 9/20/22Town Hall - New York

The complete show was exceptional from beginning to end. The musical talents were beyond. Most of all the chemistry on stage between each participant was outstanding and out of control. I have never experienced a magical event as this.... I did not want the performance to end... I will never miss seeing her perform again... Pure talent....

    Wow!

by Jazzman on 9/19/22Town Hall - New York

An absolutely fantastic evening! Melody does not disappoint, her band featured two new members from Brazil, piano & drums/percussion, and they almost stole the show. The rapport between Melody and the band was amazing and I hope to see them again in the near future, it was worth every minute of the 5-hour roundtrip to the venue!!

    Voice with a Soul

by Vi on 9/18/22Town Hall - New York

The opening act singer and guitar were lovely but the singer didn’t tell us her name. Would have loved a playbill or even a flyer to anticipate what was coming. Didn’t expect the 40 minute break after the 20 minute opening act with a 9:00 pm start time. In turn we were not able to see Melody’s full show as we had to leave. Melody’s show is silky and easy. Beautiful soulful voice.

    Awesome Concert

by Philippe on 9/18/22Town Hall - New York

I have admired the songs by Melody Gardot for years, but this is the first time that I have attended one of her life performances. It was awesome and exceeded by far my expectations. Town Hall was a great venue for the concert. It is not too big, it has excellent acoustic and good sound system. Melody was at her best, very charming, with a strong and clear voice. She surrounded herself with fantastic musicians, all great artists, be it at the piano, saxophone, drums, bass, and guitar. The audience participation, where the various sections of the auditorium were at times encouraged to sing their own specific simple tune, was more than a gimmick: the voices combined and filled the concert hall to amazing effect. The songs were of course beautiful, and their execution was perfect. In short, it was a splendid and memorable experience. I hope that it was properly recorded and that a video of this September 15, 2022 performance will be available online soon.

It was a so so show

by Lisan on 9/18/22Town Hall - New York

I love Melody Gargo but this concert was not at her highest level. I didn’t like the selection of songs. A lot of extra long orchestras play and less of her wonderful voice and old songs we all love and buy the tickets for. The energy was not there. Plus the long wait for Melody to start start.

    The band played on

by Dave on 9/18/22Town Hall - New York

Melody is a fantastic singer and I really enjoyed her music and voice. It was some what disappointing that there was a 40 minute gap between her opening act a young lady named Laura Anglade who was good and Melody’s show. She has a terrific band playing in the show, but her first couple of songs she was almost singing background to the band. I was also disappointed that she didn’t do more of her music from her albums. If she wasn’t such a great singer I would have given her show two stars.

    Mixed Experience

by Rebes on 9/18/22Town Hall - New York

I love Melody Gardot’s music, but the show was underwhelming and boring. Scheduled for 8 PM, she came out after 9 PM, 40 minutes after the opening act, leaving the audience waiting without any explanation. Between her and her pianist, they talked the show to death. In one case the introduction to a song was longer than the song itself. There was no momentum to the show, it’s like listening to one of her albums with long breaks between songs. She also seems to be quite full of herself, not as charming as her music makes expect her to be. I wasn’t alone in my views, many people left during the show.

    Amazing Talents

by Paulrm05 on 9/18/22Town Hall - New York

I’ve never seen a singer share so much of the stage with their musicians. Melody showed so much genuine appreciation and adoration of her band members, which was such a treat. The venue was very comfortable, with nice lines of sight. Many people entered long after the concert start, which was somewhat distracting and annoying. What to do?!

    Fantastic!

by LV on 9/18/22Town Hall - New York

Amazing musicians, Melody is absolutely wonderful, great atmosphere- one of that rare evenings with music that you remember forever. I only wish the Town hall would not allow people to walk in for the entire 30 min of the first part of the concert- it was before Melody came out to the stage, but I felt bad for the other singer, who was opening for Melody. Many thanks to all musicians who worked with Melody on this project, great new album, beautiful music and fantastic performance!

    More songs please!

by Fan on 9/18/22Town Hall - New York

I understand her crews are super talented but I went to the concert to hear her beautiful voice. Wish there were more singing. I thought the whole program would be suited better for a jazz cafe venue.

    Music

    by C. L. on 9/18/22Town Hall - New York

There was not enough of Melody singing her songs in her special way. Musicians accompanying her were great, but they were featured at length. There was much conversation/talking. …I was disappointed in some ways. She’s an exceptional artist who doesn’t appear here in the US that often. I’m not sorry to have gone, but just being honest.
