    Overall Viewing

by LovelySwag on 3/22/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

Overall this year the performances seemed to be a little rushed and the music was draining out the Performer. I liked all of the performances until it got to BBK, he especially just put me to sleep with barely speaking clearly into the mic, then again the music was drowning him out. Also last year we were able to move around and sance on the open space but this year they were much strickter. The seats that i had were pretty good but being squeezed in next to someone is a no go. They should think about having it at the Verizon theatre next year. I would give the overall experience a 4 out of 5.

    Blues Festival was exciting!!!!!

by Onlyprecious on 3/22/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

My sister and I attended the festival and it was GREAT!!!!!!!!! Some artisit I've seeen before and some I hadn't. I enjoyed each and every performer. There were areas where the sound was poor, the voices were not always clear and that is an area that could be improved upon. The parking was awful, no direction, no guidance, that is another area which can be improve upon. But the Festival in itself, FABULOUS!!!!!! I also would like to recommend more lady blues singers like Denise Lasalle and MIllie Jackson.

The Blues is way better than alright!!!

by ZDovine9 on 3/21/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

To see so many great blues singers on one stage was amazing. I'm only 28 but I was raised on the blues and was even named after a blues singer. If you're a true fan, this is the show for you.

    Dallas Blues Festival

by MekaMouse on 3/21/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

The concert was great! The balcony was high up so I would recommend wearing flat shoes. It was hot in the building walking uo to the arena. Once inside the air was felt a little but not much. If you don't get there on time you will have a hard time finding your seat. The ushers weren't provided with flashlights.

    Dallas Blues Festival was wonderful

by Queenp1 on 3/21/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

This was a wonderful event! I traveled from Oklahoma and it was well worth it. I'll be back next year. Sir Charles and Mel Waiters were my favorite. The only thing I didnt like was it was so hot inside of the arena.

    The Blues Really Is ALRIGHT!!!!

by Wandarama on 3/21/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

OMG, this was my first time in attendance but surely not my last. I had no idea how great of a show this would be. It surpassed my expectations. Everyone was amazing and not that I didn't love them all but Mel Waters and his band did it for me. But what Festival would not be grand without the Legendary Bobby Blue Bland. My first time seeing the legend and even at his age, he too was amazing with his signature growl. Yes he still has it. I had never been to the Dallas Convention Center either so over all it was a great night.

Something to do on a Saturday evening

by ericgift1 on 3/21/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

Last row upper balcony, to much for some of the the older folks. I moved to a section one one there, facing audience. Wondered why not sell these seats? Sound was excellent.

The concert itself was good. The time limit on some of the artist was too short and the sound system was not good

It was a very nice concert. I had a very good time. I do think that some others should have replaced J Blackfoot and Bobby Blue Bland because they could barely stand up and sing. Bobby looked like he could barely breathe to get the words out. Every one else on the tour were great. There are alot of blues singers and I just feel that for next year, bring some singers that can perform and not fall out on stage.

    One saves the day

by Montgomery1 on 3/21/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

The Music was, entirely to LOUD hard to understand what the Performers were saying half the time. J Blackfoot was great, Mel was outstanding, Sir Charles was horrible I will never pay for another ticket to see him, he did not perform well, he was disappoining to me. First time seeing Shirley she did her thing loved her, Bobby gotta love him, he lower the music so you could understand and respect his wonderful sweet voice, he really saved the day, he took it back to a old school concert. I would like to see Bobby and Mel together now that would be a concert.

    The Dallas Blues Festival

by Zodie on 3/21/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

J Blackfoot was great, Sir Charles was awful!!!! - he need to sign his songs the way they were wrote. I know artiest get tired of singing the same song, but to change the song so much that the crowd can't sign along - NOT GOOD. Shirley Brown was just ok, need to hear more than two songs from her, very disappointed. The Stand Up in Man was good, Mel Waiters was the BEST, Mel gave us just what we came for - good singing and the BLUES!!!!! Bobby Bland - I have much love for Bobby, he is the King of Blues but he's getting too old to perform and I was sad to see him come to the stage, very sad so we left on the second song. All the performers song 2-4 songs each, need to hear more of them - the sets were too short.

    blues was excellent

by Anonymous on 3/21/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

the show was very nice. all of the old performers did a wonderful job. the only thing that i did not like was the location, in my opinion it should have been in a better venue with more organization. Other than that it was a excellent show.

2011 Dallas Blues Festival Was Great!!!!!!!

by Tnorman65 on 3/21/11Dallas Conv. Ctr. Arena - Dallas

The concert was indeed a great show as always. I've been going for the last few years and very glad to have seen Marvin Sease before his passing a couple of years ago. My favorite of them all is Bobby Bland. I cried when he came out on stage because he still looks good and sings great and I thank the good lord for letting him stay with us one more day. The only thing I would love to see is Floyd Taylor sing a couple of his own songs. We appreciate the fact he keeps his fathers music alive but would love to hear him sing a few songs of his own.
