    Mc50

by Mds138 on 9/26/18House of Blues Cleveland presented by Cricket Wireless - Cleveland

This was a great show! The band assembled honored this music of the mighty Mc5. I don’t know if the singer was chosen for his afro or his voice but both were 100% excellent.

    MC50 - surprisingly incredible

by Michiganshowmaniac on 9/25/1820 Monroe Live - Grand Rapids

I picked up free tix for this show via Schlesinger settlement vouchers primarily because it was the first show eligible that I had any interest to attend. I knew the history of MC5 and a few songs, but had no idea what to expect from MC50. Pleasantly surprised is an understatement - this is an incredible high-energy tribute to the original release of Kick Out The Jams and I highly recommend checking it out if you are/were an MC5 fan, want to see a piece of recreated rock history, or like garage rock/punk music in general. The ensemble supergroup sounds like they have played together for years, and Wayne Kramer’s enthusiasm and stage presence is very contagious.

While some of the high notes weren’t as high as when Wayne was 18 it was more than made up for. This is an amazing show for a bunch of old guys. Loved the MC5 when I first saw them at the 1968 DNC in Chicago and loved them at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. E=MC5!

    An MC 5 fan's dream

by Christ69 on 9/16/18Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Wayne Kramer and an all star band of MC 5 sonic/ spiritual descendants, including Brendan Canty (Fugazi), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Billy Gould (Faith No More) and Marcus Durant (Zen Guerrilla) rendered a tight explosive start to finish rendition of the 50 year old classic "Kick Out the Jams" plus a selection of songs from follow-up "Back in the USA", one tune from their greatest album, "High Time," plus early single "I Can Only Give You Everything". There is nothing I can tell you about these players that you don't already know in terms of the level of musicianship, heart and soul they of course brought to the proceedings. Now, you might not be familiar with Marcus Durant, so I will tell you that for me he really put this whole thing over the top. Tall, afro'd, sunglasses, 6+ feet tall he breathed life into these songs with a groovy ferocity and electric presence that did Mr. Rob Tyner proud. As a friend noted, "I would pay to watch this guy do the dishes." Here's hoping for another tour (complete rendition of "High Time"?) or better still, new material....

    The Jams are still kickin!!!

by Ryanonbass on 9/8/18Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

Man this show was SOOOOOOO amazing. The band played great. 50 years later Wayne Kramer is still kicking It! All the members were great too! Kim Thayil of Soundgarden was great on guitar, and Billy Gould of Faith No More rock in on the bass. The lead vocalist and drummer was also amazing! This is some of the most fun I've had a show in a while. Hope they come again! Saw them in Florida with my girlfriend who also dug the show, and might catch them again in New York.
