The Gospelfest was an absolute blessing. I think the competitions need to be better organized. The competitions ran over 6pm which was the time posted at the door of the arena on Saturday. Attendees travel some distance to attend this event so a little more respect for timing would be appreciated. I had to leave early because I was relying on timed public transporation to get back home. Perhaps the competition can start at 3pm.

    Not Happy

    by Samantha39 on 6/21/11Prudential Center - Newark

The competition went past the scheduled time, and once TD Jakes came out and gave his speech and was done the competition continued which really went past the scheduled time. My friends and I ended up leaving at 7:45 and not being able to see any of the scheduled celebrity performances.

    The performers are always amazing

    by ama6884 on 6/21/11Prudential Center - Newark

I went to Gospelfest with a friend that was attending the show for the first time. She says, from now on she wants to catch the show every year. I felt the entire show was spectacular. At the start of the show watching the different groups perform was very nice but lengthy. However the Artist that performed afterwards, like Donnie McKlurkin, Kirk Franklin, James Fortune, and Hezekiah Walker was worth every bit of the wait. I enjoyed the jokes that Vicky Winans told. I also enjoyed her performance. All in all I had a terrific time. I would like to see everyone again, even the folks I didn't mention. In addition to the performers that was present I would also like to have seen Mary Mary and Fred Hammond.

    2011 McDonald's Gospelfest

by Sugarlee on 6/21/11Prudential Center - Newark

It was my first ever Gospelfest and the Glory and praising was felt. I didn't get to see the competition because of horrible tracfic. But God is the the power and we wasn't late but right on time. We walked in almost ready to turn around and go home but we didn't. As we were shown our seat the last, the very last choir came out and they filled us up with his Love and Mercy. They sang "Don't you Give up" and that was all we needed to hear to know that God shows up right on time. After that we bearly sat down the whole evening.

over all the show was amazing. The band played over the singing in some songs. The sound is too loud.

    Excellent and Very Encouraging

by LadyGLH on 6/21/11Prudential Center - Newark

TD Jakes started off with an amazing word! The youth were just absolutely beautiful and the voices on them! My God, these young people were just AWESOME. Hezekiah, Donnie, and Kirk just brought the house down and blessed me tremendously. I was so thankful that I had the mind to attend this year and I WILL be back next year :)

    Great!!

    by dydln5 on 6/21/11Prudential Center - Newark

This year's gospelfest was GREAT. It was good to have Donnie and Kirk Franklin back. They rocked th house. Also, TD Jake's message was wonderful and very inspirational. I hope that 2012 lineup is just as good. Last year - 2010 was horrible. I left feeling like it would have been my last year. However, when I saw this year's line up, I justr had to purchase my tickets. Great....

    Low budget

    by Godson2011 on 6/20/11Prudential Center - Newark

The sound was off, all the gospel groups had bad microphones. Also the acoustics were terrible. Td jakes had a great message. For a corporation as big as McDonalds to sponsor this event I expected way more. Not going to Gospelfest 2012 :-/

    Awesome

    by SDM1219 on 6/20/11Prudential Center - Newark

The event was awesome. All of the performers were great. I only wish that the host would not have been so rude at times when it came to getting some of the singer of the stage. I understand that there was a time limit that everyone gets to do their thing, but at some points he was just telling people to get of the stage, telling them to hurry or just plain taking mikes from them mid song. But overall I enjoyed myself. Love Hezikiah, Donnie, Kurt, and Vicki. Loved T.D. Jakes.

    Terrible sound mix at Gospelfest

    by ziggy8898 on 6/20/11Prudential Center - Newark

I loved the performers at Gospelfest but the sound system was so poorly balanced. The lead vocals were inaudible for the entire 6 hours I was there. The performances themselves were wondering. It was a shame I could not understand anything they were singing due to the terrible sound board work. I hope they fix this next year.

All were great but Donnie needed more time

    by Diva24k on 6/20/11Prudential Center - Newark

I enjoyed the show very much, my one complaint is that it seemed very unorganized. And I wish that Donnie could have performed a little longer.
