This is an awesome show. We went with 6 friends and we all laughed the whole time. Maz is great at making fun of his culture and other cultures without crossing the line. His opening acts were very entertaining as well. I would definately see him again.

by Rany on 3/12/12Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Maz and the openers (including Ian Edwards) were all incredible! I don't think i went more than a minute without laughing. The best part was that while everything they said was funny, it was also true! I would definitely go see Maz and/or Ian again.

  • Family Friendly? Not anymore....

by ComedyFanLJ on 3/12/12Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

I had done my research before I actually decided to dole out $50 for a ticket to a live Maz Jobrani show. I saw a lot of clips from his previous comedy shows. I expected a good show. Usually, his comedy is clean. This sets him apart from his peers a lot of whom use raunchy comedy to rope in an audience. How many comedians these days have "family-friendly" shows but still manage to be hilarious? He used a lot of the same jokes, so I was disappointed. But, there was some new material. I would love to hear more about what he observes from a husband / father / son point of view. Toward the end of the show he talked about his experience of going to a movie with his son and another 3 year old. It was really funny. He's also done bits about how his culture is different to American culture which is funny. He picked on the people in the front row (a bit of a cop out) and tried to create a dialogue with the audience by asking people if they were from a specific country. Then he would say something about that country. Thought that was a bit lame. It's nice to hear an Iranian-American voice in the mainstream. America could learn a lot. He could be a good ambassador. Thinking of going? Watch the clips from his previous comedy shows and save your money until he comes out with new material.

Funny jokes. It is a much better experience to see him in the theater than in YouTube. He is a really funny guy.

It was very nice. I enjoyed Maz as usual, but also the Jamaican entertainer before him was good. The duration was just long enough. Interaction with audience was good too.

We especially enjoyed new parent stories; we have a 4 month old, and could completely relate. It was also non-ethnic and sooo universal.
