It was our 40th anniversary and we enjoyed every minute of it. My husband described her voice as an instrument, not missing a note. Love her light sense of humor and storytelling between songs. Such a great evening!
Maysa blended the new stuff with the old. She gave us R & B, Jazz, Funk, and even took us back to Disco! She put on a SHOW!!

This was my 1st concert at The Birchmere after the untimely death of the iconic owner, Gary Oelze; and, other than the show starting a few minutes after the normal start time (7:30), which Gary would have never allowed, the show itself was its usual stellar performance by one of my favorite sultry and soulful singers, Maysa Leake! The artist treated the enthusiastic audience with selections from her newly released CD, as well as a generous sprinkling of timely classics ("Deep Waters'", of course!), and a medley of cover songs by other artists which stretched from disco to ballads. And, although the Birchmere staff may have been a little miffed, Maysa performed for almost 3 hours, and it was a full house until the end! Maysa, a proud graduate of Morgan State University (also designated by the National Historic Society as a "National Treasure"), continues to tell her wonderful story & life experiences through her music, and we all are so fortunate to be passengers on her eclectic and transformational music/life journey!
It was a fabulous show! I absolutely loved it! I enjoyed her incredible voice, her band, the venue and food. The entire experience was five stars.
Great food and the atmosphere was fantastic Maysa was great but she did not showcase all her songs but otherwise she was gooodddd

Flowing arrangement of vellvet vocals, rose petal instruments, sunflower ensemble and a wreath of timeless classics. Ballads, medleys, encompassed the Soundboard Hall. Assembly line served up sumptuous Prime rib seasoned to perfection. Cordial amenities for a thirsty thursday .dance party. Mahal Kita
The seating area was not good, but otherwise, it was an awesome concert.
Always enjoy seeing Maya’s. She gives an outstanding performance each time. Did not disappoint!
