Drove 3hrs to watch Matt in Bangor Maine after seeing him on Fox News briefly. The venue was a complete joke, the Cross Insurance Center. My wife and I walked into literally a conference room, we had never been here before. I have to imagine Matt hasnt and his booking agent hadnt either. Before I bought tickets, I was surprised he would be at such a rural place in the middle of basically nowhere. There was literally no seating for us, it was a conference room set up for a corporate meeting for someone doing a powerpoint. Seriously. We waited 15 minutes for facilty maintenence to bring us a couple of cocktail table chairs. The lighting was horrible, it was not ser up for a comedy show. As in we couldnt even see Matt’s facial expressions during the act. It was diffused lighting from a tall seating, sconces 12 feet up the walls, folding chairs in front of the temporary stage, and 10 cocktail tables with high chairs set up. What I will say is Matt did bot disappoint. I felt bad for him frankly. What a dump this place was and he incorporated the horrible conditions into his material. It was the type of situation where we walked in and the first words out of our mouths were ‘what the hell is this ….hole?, are you serious.?’ Matt is very talented and was hilarious. The audience was 90% white folks over the age of 60. So most the time they had no clue about current events and pop culture. That’s a tough crowd for a modern day professional comedian. But he dod a great job. I just wish I could have actually seen his facial expressions as he delivered his material since that plays into the communication and delivery of his jokes. Thats part of the actual art form in comedy or any acting. It was like listening on a podcast even though we were only 30 feet away. It’s got to be tough carrying a room of 50 people in a horrible venue after literally being on national TV the week prior. It would have been great if we walked into literally when he was on. We came in when his local opener was mid way through his routine. Matt could have used us standing for 15 mins waiting for seating to really get the crowd laughing, we would have enjoyed it! He did it anyway without this easy ‘lay up,’ which just shows how talented he is. We will be going to his show in Concord NH which is only 10 mins from our home in the fall and look forward to seeing him at a much better place, albeit small venue! Keep up the great work Matt you are a talented comedian!

We saw Matt Friend on Fox and Friends. Taped it and watched it over and over again. My husband and I left our comfort zone, and drove to S.F. and saw him at Cobbs Comedy Club. We had a great time!

I didn’t know what to expect, because sometimes Internet personalities don’t transition well to live performances. Not the case here. Matt is charming, funny, and has a great stage presence. We laughed all throughout the show. I wish it had lasted longer!

Matt is a great impressionist who is also a very funny comedian. Had the very diverse crowd (ranging in age from early 20s to late 60s/early 70s) laughing the whole show. Highly recommended if you are looking for a fun show with lots of laughs.

What a great performance! Matt is funny, insightful and completely on point. Impressions are unbelievably great… but his thoughtful comments are even better. He will be a voice that needs to be heard.
