About

MASTER P IN CONCERT:

Southern hip hop pioneer Master P remains a swaggering force to be reckoned with more than two decades after he first shook up the rap game with his distinctly Southern sound. He founded seminal label No Limit Records in the early '90s and remains a patriarchal figure of the extended No Limit family, continuing to perform alongside No Limit artists at showcase concerts around the country. No matter who he's sharing the bill with P always brings the ruckus to the stage with party-anthem favorites like "Make 'Em Say Uhh!" and "I Got the Hook Up!". The prolific P has several new albums set to drop in 2016 including the aptly titled Boss of All Bosses, and fans lucky enough to catch him in concert will know without a  doubt who's in charge.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Master P, aka Percy Robert Miller, was born and raised in New Orleans but cut his teeth in the Bay Area rap scene after moving to Richmond, CA in his early twenties. There his brick and mortar shop No Limit Records became the avenue for his early releases and eventually the namesake of his record label. P made his debut on the label in 1991with Get Away Clean and followed up with several more albums before returning to New Orleans in 1995, where his uniquely Southern sound really found an audience. His 1996 album Mr. Ice Cream Man was a regional sensation that burned up the rap charts with its title track before local notoriety gave way to national fame the following year when Ghetto D topped both the Billboard 200 and the Top Rap Albums chart. His rise continued in 1998 with the album MP da Last Don, a multi-platinum smash that once again topped the charts. Since then P has consistently released albums and raised the roof on tour while also making his mark as an entrepreneur, author, and filmmaker.

by Landa49 on 5/1/23Smoothie King Center - New Orleans

The concert was not good. Last year was wayyyy better. It was more talking and playing music then entertaining. They were singing other people songs. I wish I could some of my money back. Master P. was wrong for that throwed together concert. And the sound was WACK.

    Not what I expected

by Shronder on 5/1/23Smoothie King Center - New Orleans

Some of the performers didn’t sound good and were off beat and they took Erikya Badu off the lineup. Nothing compared to the first birthday bash

    Never again bash

by Disappointing on 5/1/23Smoothie King Center - New Orleans

I came up during the era when Master P initially came out. The music was the bomb at this time. Of course time has passed and a lot has changed, but I was very displeased with the Master P Bash 2023. There were too many artists performing and it took too long before P came on the stage. There were so many people that were leaving the bash including myself. I never had the opportunity to go see P before and I was disappointed and I will probably not go to another one of the Master P Bash again! I could not believe what I was seeing. I think that P should have had more relevant artist such as Snoop and the dog pound, and Dr. Dre. I think these artists would have put on a great performance and no one would have gotten up to leave before it was over.

    Sucked

by Bmwtg2 on 5/1/23Smoothie King Center - New Orleans

This event was horrible. The only good thing is that proceeds will go to mental health services in the area. I had floor seats & people were standing on their chairs blocking the view of the stage & security did nothing. Then a flyer for the event had erykah badu listed & she was not there. Because this is his 2nd time doing this I thought it would be better but hopefully next year since will be the 3rd it will be more organized & controlled

by S on 5/1/23Smoothie King Center - New Orleans

This was a waste of money & time..The concert last year was good, but not this one. The sound was horrible, the mics we off,and Erykah Badu was a no show. The only artist that was worth seeing was Lloyd. I hope this is not a yearly thing.

    Good concert

by Honey on 5/1/23Smoothie King Center - New Orleans

Concert was ok. Mia X was amazing, her voice was so clear! Master P is so fine. Webber had too many people. Jagged Edge was singing all over one another. Probably be the last rap concert I will attend.

    WORST CONCERT EVER

    by L. C. on 9/24/22

All of the negative reviews of the Tampa concert are 100% accurate. The only No Limit artists who performed were Silk and Master P which definitely does not make for a No Limit Reunion. Those two performances combined were less than 30 mins and the concert was 3 hrs behind schedule. Complete waste of time and money as we don’t live in the Tampa area so the cost of the concert is a lot more than just the tickets. Disappointing is an understatement and they should’ve cancelled the concert if they weren’t going to deliver the show as advertised.

by GiGi on 9/21/22Yuengling Center - Tampa

Concert was 3 hours late & very short, lineup changed drastically, didn’t know the performers, main artists hadn’t arrived until nearly the end. Sound system and stage lighting was not good. Never Again, not a good birthday experience!

    Worst Concert Ever!

by KayB on 9/21/22Yuengling Center - Tampa

This was the worst concert that I have ever attended! Even though they changed the concert time from 6:30 to 7:30 (that was a red flag) the show STILL started over an hour late. The concert was full of local acts who were not even on the ticket. Finally 8 Ball and MJG came out and performed. There were long time gaps in between the acts as if they were stalling for time. We left early because it was almost 11pm still and no sign of any No Limit Artists. We later heard that after we left that Silk the Shocker finally came on for about 10 minutes and Master P performed a few snippets of songs and then left. No one else from No Limit performed. This was definitely a waste of my time and money and No Limit has lost a long time fan. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

    Horrible

    by BigAl02 on 9/20/22Yuengling Center - Tampa

Well let me say I was a big fan of No Limit back in the day and never had an opportunity to go to a concert and was really looking forward to this event. First the stage was setup and reminded me of a high school stage, then none of the advertised artist thy were apart of the original No Limit crew showed up only Master P and Silk da Shocker. The show started at 730 and had plenty of awkward breaks with the crew constantly going to the DJ telling him something and the host something Having them stall for time. The whole energy of the event was thrown off as we waited for the No Limit Soldiers to arrive. Silk showed up for like 10 minutes doing snippets of his songs and then left where we had a 20-25 minute break before Master P showed up and he also did snippets of his songs for roughly 20 minutes and then he abruptly left without saying anything to the crowd and the concert was over. Really strange and disappointing. The show was not a sellout so maybe that’s why none of the advertised artists didn’t show up. Either way very disappointed in the whole night and really felt like my money was wasted.
