Teenage Dutch DJ, music producer, and veritable wunderkind Martin Garrix launches a fierce barrage of dance beats whenever he's live on the ones and twos. Just as he took clubs and festivals across Europe by veritable storm in 2013, he promises to do the same on his first US tour in 2014 — all scheduled around his high school classes, of course.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
At the tender age of 17, Martin Garrix (born Martin Garritsen) became one of the fastest rising stars in the EDM world with his 2013 blockbuster hit “Animals,” which shot to the number one position on the U.K. Top 40 Singles chart. That’s not to say he didn’t pay his dues as a wedding DJ and a ghost producer for other artists before releasing his own music. Garrix generously credits the likes of Hardwell, Tiësto and Vato Gonzalez for spinning his tunes and introducing his work to various labels and producers.

The energy was unlike any other EDM show or festival I've been to. Thursday show was the best production, setlist, and audience I've witnessed at BG.

However he was playing genres that are hardly related to Martin's own style. He was kinda crap. Then the next guy gets up, and he is EVEN WORSE. There are like three hands in the air and everyone else is completely avoiding him. A total waste of 3 hours of my life. I don't know if this was intentional, because it made Martin's appearance 20x more hype, but it was just stupid. Like I go to openers to find new DJs, not listen to trash. However, because Martin Garrix was so damn good himself, I decided to only deduct one star, because it isn't directly his fault that the openers sucked ass.

He is an amazing young talent always filled with high energy and great sets. For an 18 year old he has already accumulated a good amount of songs that work into his set different ways. I'd advise everyone to check him out.
