About

The beloved Universal Pictures film October Sky is now a new musical. It was 1957, and Sputnik lights up the October sky over the small Appalachian mining town of Coalwood, West Virginia. Homer Hickam, the young son of a coal miner, is determined not to end up like generations before him. Inspired by the world’s race to space, Homer and his buddies begin to light up the starry skies with their homemade rockets and dreams of glory. This rich and emotional story is for anyone who ever dreamed of something better and reached for the stars. Produced in association with Universal Stage Productions.

    It was ok

by Chicagorookie on 8/31/15Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire - Lincolnshire

First time in Chicago and was excited to see this world premiere.it was very far from hotel, about 1hour. The place was small. Had front row seats and still had a hard time hearing them, mice were terrible. The musical was ok, some parts were good and other parts slow and boring. I've seen better but I did enjoy the evening.
