by CantonStanner on 3/12/15Southern Theatre - ColumbusThis was our first opera so we were a bit unsure of how well we would enjoy it. We loved it! The Southern Theatre is beautiful...it's a great venue, very cozy but comfortable. The opera company was very talented, the Columbus Symphony was exceptional. We would go again!

by SueScience on 3/11/15Southern Theatre - ColumbusWe are grateful that Opera Columbus has been revived. The fresh faces and beautiful voices were so amazing in this English version of Marriage of Figaro. Bravo for putting on such a great show.
Rating: 5 out of 5 The Marriage of Figaro was fantastic!
by Anonymous on 3/11/15Southern Theatre - ColumbusThere's nothing like hearing Mozart in such a beautiful and intimate theater like the Southern! It is like going back in time...The fact that it was performed in English with the help of subtitles only added to the understanding and enjoyment of the performance. People and children not entirely versed with the story were able to really enjoy it. It was great to see so many children in the audience! The singers were amazing and incredibly talented! I'm so glad I was able to see this performance!

by pctogo on 3/9/15Southern Theatre - ColumbusThis was our first opera in Columbus and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The only issue was the warmth in the theater. Overall, it was very good.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Marriage of Figaro was hysterical!
by Chemefreak on 3/8/15Southern Theatre - ColumbusWe went to the dress rehearsal, which can be a bit of a farce. However, the cast recognized that we had paid to be there and even though there were a few miscues, they kept it going and did a great job. We laughed the entire time. Great job.

by ZiaBeth on 3/4/13Lexington Opera House - LexingtonI think that the performance I saw of The Marriage of Figaro, put on by The UK Opera, was fantastic. I was not expecting such talent from college students! Bravo!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Extraordinary!
by JudiRain on 9/13/10Portland Actors Conservatory - PortlandHaving seen The Marriage of Figaro performed 4 times in New York City in large venues and with a full orchestra, I was very interested to see what this production would be like. I was more than pleasantly surprised! The high quality of the performance was overwhelming. The small venue provided a delightfully intimate proximity to the actors that involved us in the story, the piano accompaniment was so superb that an orchestra wasn't missed in the least, and overall the acoustics of the venue saturated the audience with the beautiful music and voices. The direction and acting of the performance was outstanding, never missing an opportunity to make every use of the comical nature of this classic opera. The pace was brisk and engaging, there was not one sub-par vocalist, every aria and bit of libretto was clear and bright. Totally outstanding. BRAVO!!!!
Rating: 4 out of 5 Marriage of Figaro--a fine student production
by newkey on 9/8/10Portland Actors Conservatory - PortlandThis was a reduced version of Marriage of Figaro with handsome costumes, an attractive costumes and clever, if spartan, sets. No orchestra or chorus was on hand, but the pianist did a fine job accompanying the singers in this English language production which used the accomplished Martin translation. The audience filled the small venue and obviously enjoyed the chance to see the characters close up. The acting was well thought out. The singing was not always of the caliber one would expect at Portland Opera, but it filled the bill. There are three more performances--go while you have the chance.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Marriage of Figaro was exceptionally good.
by BernardWalter on 3/5/10F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreThe acting was superb, the voices were magnificent, the music of course is timelessly beautiful, and Wilkes-Barre is so lucky to have at least one operatic perfomance per year. I am glad that there is still a wonderful mix of old and young who recognize the greatness of classical European culture of refinement and sophistication.
