About

Veteran R&B singer Marques Houston released his sixth solo album Famous in 2013, bringing classic R&B sounds to the loyal fans whose love for his music motivated the album’s creation. On his Famous Tour in 2013, Houston was backed by an all-female band, showcasing his sensual side with his signature soulful, romantic crooning. Houston brings the same sultry vibes to larger concert venues (recently touring with Dru Hill, Immature and Next). Even in a crowd of 20,000 ticket holders, the dim, silky lighting and smooth performances onstage feel just as intimate. The tracks “Give Your Love a Try,” featuring rapper Problem, and “Only You” are great samples of Houston’s sensual sound.

Starting out early in the music industry at age 11, Houston performed with rap ensemble Immature/IMx in the early 1990s, which proved to be his ticket to success. His classic sounds are reminiscent of those of Marvin Gaye and D’Angelo, allowing him to work in production for B2K, Destiny’s Child, N2U, Omarion and 50 Cent’s smash single “Candy Shop.” He also made his mark in acting, appearing most notably in the TV series Sister, Sister as well as feature films You Got Served and Fat Albert. Houston has been bringing his pure R&B solo music since his 2003 debut album, MH. He followed up with Naked (2005) (who's titular track debuted at No. 8 on the charts), Veteran (2007), Mr. Houston (2009) and Mattress Music (2010). Houston’s main source of inspiration these days comes from the connection he’s made with his fans through social media. The singer takes good care of his fans – upon the release of Famous, he performed a 13-city tour across the U.S., and ticket buyers were plugged into Houston’s intimate jam session.
