Sensational performance by one of America's very best sond-and-dance comedians.
Quick witted, timely, and razor sharp satire. Very worthwhile and very enjoyable. Lots of laugh out loud moments.
I haven't laughed this hard in a long, long time! Mark Russell did an amazing job of presenting a current and extremely funny show.
Mark Russell has something for everyone. His ability to play the piano, sing, and tell jokes all at the same time is amazing. His performance is totally polished. He engages the audience, keeps you laughing. And he's good at ad libbing if given the chance. During one song, the stage lights went out, he was in total darkness and he was laughing heartily at himself and the situation. It was hilarious
Mark Russel's humor was sharp and up to the minute. The show was funny and I laughed out loud again and again.
He was terrific, performing non stop for one hour 45 minutes with old and new material. We always enjoy him as he lampoons both parties equally. It was a great evening.
Russell had much new material that was timely as usual: if we attack Iran, we'll need another tax cut. The New Jersey parody was fun sung to Take Me Home Country Roads. Fords Theatre is amazing in its renovation. Good seats 5 and 7 row E left were perfect for seeing and hearing. Russell seemed rejuvenated compared to a couple of the last times we had seen him on PBS in Buffalo. Glad to know he's still at the top of his form.
The evening with Mark Russell at the beautifully renovated Ford's Theatre was great. He was in top form - topical, hilarious with a really nice mix of subject matter. I am a long-time Mark Russell fan and my husband really enjoyed the evening - lots of laughs and food for thought.
Mark Russell is very entertaining. Comedy kept up us laughing and piano playing was a great companian piece. Spot on!! Appeals to people of all ages. Brought friends with us and they are now looking forward to the next show. Never a bad seat in the house at the Ford Theater. The refurbished theater now affords nice comfy seats.
Russell kept the audience in stitches the entire performance. Lots of new material (I saw him last year and the year before). How he remembers all of this is incredible! and he continues to be an equal opportunity satirist---all are attacked!
The show was consistently funny with the big laugh-getters fairly evenly distributed along the way. He continues to hold no public figure as too good for his satire. I enjoyed the apparent "free-form" comedy segment about two-thirds of the way through the show. Overall his delivery and timing were top-notch.
Mark Russell's performance exceeded my expectations. I particularly enjoyed his "bipartisanship". He even managed to bring William Howard Taft into the performance!
Mark Russell is more entertaining than ever....this is a great show and he is a great showman. Be ready to laugh and sing!
Mark Russell still has the magic to entertain. This was another wonderful evening with Mark.
Extremely funny. He is incredibly witty and finds unique humor is unimaginable ways. We laughed, belly laughed so hard. And, 90 minutes straight....what a memory.
The Ford's Theater was great! My company was great as well. However, the show lacked on so many levels. If you want to see this type of show I recommend seeing Capitol Steps.
I had not seen Mark Russell in 15 years and then on his PBS show. The newly renovated Ford's Theater is an elegant yet small and comfortable venue so perfect for him and remindful of his lounge act venues of many years past. He started off with more current topics and got stronger and more active towards the end of a 90 minute show - leading us into three sing-alongs - in between jumping up to bounce around the stage. As delightful and amusing and sharp witted as ever I recall - a fun show to warm your heart on a cold winter's night!
I have fulfilled one of my "things to do before I die" list by seeing Mark in person last night. I've been watching him on PBS for a long time. He's the best. I would vote for Mr Russell for president. I wish our president could spend some time talking to him to get his historical perspective of our screwed up political system. I have'nt laughed that hard for a long time
He was much better than I expected - fresh material, great connection with audience, and totally relevant material - clever and complete.
