Marielle has quickly become my favorite artist
by Chris on 4/29/24The Foundry - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5This show at the Foundry was amazing as always and it was so great to have everything come full circle as I had discovered Marielle at the Foundry in November 2022 when she opened for Sub-Radio. I was instantly hooked the second she came on stage and started singing Shrink from her (at the time) latest EP. I was a very fast fan from that moment on and quickly learned the setlist so I could sing along when I went to the DC show just to see her again. I have seen her 13 more times since that first experience and at every single show, she meets and greets every single fan who wants to say hi. She is probably the nicest artist I've ever met at a concert. She is also one of the most consistent artists and always sounds incredible. This past tour, I went to her last 6 shows and each one was just as special as the last although the last one in DC was extra special. You really get to know her through her music and even though a good chunk of her songs are about past relationships that I cannot relate to as break up songs, she has a way of writing songs that can be relatable to anyone regardless of relationship status, even if it's just a verse that is broad enough to encompass more than just her intended meaning. I find myself loving every song more and more as time goes on and cannot wait to follow her through her career and give my support as much as I can. If you ever get a chance to see her in concert, you will not regret it. I am forever thankful for Sub-Radio for bringing her along and introducing me to this amazing human.
