It was advertised as a small venue to allow for a more intimate experience. It was exactly that. I felt Robert was like the friend that brings a guitar to the Christmas party. It wasn't scripted at all. He was spontaneous and responsive to the small crowd. I really enjoyed the experience . I am looking foward to more events at that venue.
Fantastic show. Marc was excellent as usual. Most of the songs he played were yelled out from the fans which made the interaction fun. His stories about the songs were fun too expecially Blackrock in which a street sign with the songs name is stolen over and over again. Marc and OAR always put on entertaining shows!
As a huge fan of o.a.r. - and the late vh1 Storytellers - this show was perfect! I love smaller, intimate settings for shows, as well as learning about why songs were written. This checked all of those boxes. Marc was very entertaining between songs and obviously the songs were amazing. 100% recommend.. Found out he's coming to Indy and I will definitely be in attendance!
Mark Roberge put on a great show. The venue was really awesome and the sound was really good.
I have ties Rockville, MD and childhood overlap with Marc. I knew his sound was unique and his voice powerful. What floored me was his voice is every bit world class caliber (jaw dropping good)--radio doesn't do him justice. He truly is remarkable person who is grounded and down to earth. He hasn't forgotten his roots and delivered light hearted stories to give life and jived with his modest, humble, honest, every day person persona. He's extraordinary-he truly puts everything into his music and truly LOVES what he does. , His words grip an audience in the way that only one other act did (for me)--and that was Sir Paul McCartney. I'm a better person for having gone to see him--as a musician and person.
Amazing show at a very intimate setting! Marc made the entire night very special with acoustic versions of many beloved OAR songs, taking requests from the audience, and putting his heart and soul into everything he sang. Stephen Kellogg and Richard on joined him at times, making the night even more special. Loved every minute of it.
Even without the rest of the band, Marc had an awesome performance. We saw him last at the National Zoo where he played a similar performance, but this one was great. He got the crowd into it and explained where the idea for most of the songs came from. Great show and I can't wait to see him (or the whole band) again soon.
Not only was the Birchmere a great venue, but Marc Roberge put on a performance that was amazing and unforgettable.
Such a unique experience to see Marc (and friends!) in an intimate setting like the Birchmere. As a huge OAR fan, I knew this was an event I couldn't miss and I couldn't be more satisfied with the show. I've seen them nearly a dozen times and he still managed to play songs I'd never heard live before, so that was awesome.
Marc Roberge has just as much energy as a solo performer as he does when plying with o.a.r.
