MARC MARTEL IN CONCERT:
From his days with acclaimed Christian rock outfit Downhere to his current gig filling in for Freddie Mercury on the Queen Extravaganza tour, Marc Martel has remained a jaw-dropping performer revered for his pitch-perfect vocals and commanding showmanship. Martel’s uncanny performances of Queen favorites like “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Somebody to Love” have proven he can sing with the best of them, and he brings the same passion and expertise to his solo shows. Just as likely to cover ‘90s gems like Jesus Jones’ “Right Here Right Now” as he is to play cuts from his 2014 solo debut Impersonator, Martel is a dynamic performer who keeps fans on their toes with soulful sets that draw from his impressive past.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Montreal-born Marc Martel was raised in the music-intensive environment of the church where his father led worship and his mother directed the choir. In 1999 he and a group of classmates at Saskatchewan’s Briercrest College and Seminary formed the band Downhere. The group toured on behalf of the college for four years, and after graduating they relocated to Nashville and signed with Word Records. The band released 10 albums and racked up several Juno and Dove Awards before going on hiatus in 2013. Martel launched his solo career in 2011 when he auditioned for the Queen Extravaganza tour with a video of himself performing “Somebody to Love”. The impeccable performance went viral and impressed original Queen drummer Roger Taylor enough to earn Martel a spot on the band’s 2012 tour. Following the highly anticipated 2014 release of his debut solo album Impersonator, Martel once again joined Queen in late 2015 for another round of performances.
If you love Queen (Freddie Mercury) this is a must see concert. The most fun I’ve had at a concert in a long time. Marc Martel is entertaining and closing your eyes you would think Freddie was on stage. I’m already looking for tickets to see him again!! Go .. you won’t regret it. AWESOME! 👏🏻
Marc & the band were amazing! There were several moments during the show if you closed your eyes you would swear it was Queen on stage! Freddie would be proud keep doing what you do Marc!
My wife and I enjoyed the show. I was a little hard to see because of the big man in front of me. He kept leaning back and forth and it made it difficult to enjoy and see. Otherwise, the music was top notch and so was the Singing and the band!
Marc Martel's performance of Queen's songs far exceeded any expectations! As someone who had seen Queen perform live twice before the passing of Freddie Mercury, Marc Martel's performance is nothing but an honour and a tribute to the music!

We had excellent seats and the concert was amazing. All the musicians were top notch and Marc Martel was very personable as well as being an astounding singer and entertainer.

Marc Martel is more than “good enough” (as he says). We’ve seen him 4 times and will again next year too!!
The performance was excellent but the seats in section 201, row DD closer to the stage side, should had never been sold to the public, specifically not at that price. It's very hard to see 1/2 of the stage from that raw. To makes matters worst, employees from the venue that stood there all night near that end to make sure noone went out the wrong door, never did anything to talk to people that were getting out of their seats or stood in front of others blocking the little bit of view we had available. It was very frustrating. Seats were kind of small and tight as I have big hips. But the most frustrating experience was people in other rows in front of us were constantly standing up blocking our view. In order to avoid any possible confrontation, we just decided to look at the big screen on the wall.
Good energy and quality vocals. Excellent musicianship and a long and exciting show.
My family are Queen fans. My wife and I along with our 15-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son attended the One Vision of Queen show at Hard Rock Casino & Resort in Biloxi. The performance by Marc Martell was unbelievable. On a vast majority of the Queen songs, you could close your eyes and hear Freddie Mercury. The band was great, and the lights and staging were also great. Watching my kids singing and dancing to Radio Gaga, Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, We are the Champions, and Somebody to Love (and several more) are memories for a lifetime!
My 6th time seeing him in concert- he’s always on point and delivers a fantastic show! Vocals you can’t believe, and an awesome personality as well. He’s an exemplary musician, vocalist and showman! So great he sang on the Freddie Mercury movie soundtrack. Close your eyes and it’s QUEEN.

We had an awesome time at the Mark Martel concert. He was super energetic up until the very last second he was on stage. We were right up front and the crowd was well behaved. He sung all the favorites which made it super special. Would love to see him again!!
Marc Martel and his band were absolutely amazingly sounding like the original queen. He is the best at being Freddie Mercury. Of course, no one can take Freddie’s place, but he comes very close with his vocal talent! I would highly recommend any, and all Queen fans to go see him perform. I would definitely go and see him again and again and again.!

This was my second time to see this awesome show!! Marc is a brilliant vocalist and musician!! He and his band are the ultimate tribute to Freddie Mercury/Queen! Can't wait until they come back here again!!!!
