About

For over fifteen years, Marc Maron has been writing and performing raw, honest and thought-provoking comedy for print, stage, radio and television.  A legend in the stand-up community, he has appeared on HBO, Conan, Letterman, his two Comedy Central Presents specials and almost every show that allows comics to perform. His book based on his solo show, The Jerusalem Syndrome: My Life as a Reluctant Messiah, is out of print and overpriced by vendors who think it might have some collectors value. His three CDs, "Not Sold Out', ‘Tickets Still Available' and ‘Final Engagement' are comedy cult classics. This year, Marc headlined an episode of Comedy Central's John Oliver's NY Stand-Up Show and was ranked #7 in Comedy Central's annual Stand-Up Showdown. His podcast "WTF with Marc Maron," featuring in-depth interviews with comedy icons like Robin Williams and Ben Stiller, averages 160,000 listeners per week.

Marc Maron - Great as Usual

by Kalantan on 2/17/13Capitol Theatre - Columbus

Granted, I am one of Marc Maron's hardcore fans. This show actually surprised me with the way the audience connected with his topics and persona. Usually Mid-West crowds are more reserved and quiet - a.k.a. boring.

I believe that Boomer lives too

by DropMurphy on 2/17/13Capitol Theatre - Columbus

I'm a fan of Marc Maron and his style of comedy so the show was a great experience for me. I had a great time listening andn laughing with Maron and Mike Lawrence. Even though I did not produce any woos & did not take an applause break I was on board for the whole ride. Thanks to Marc and Mike for a great evening.

Marc was grumpy, pissed off and hilarious. Everything I expected and love him for.

    Maron didn't disappoint!

by Anonymous on 2/17/13Capitol Theatre - Columbus

Wasn't sure what to expect. I am a fan of his podcast but had never heard his stand up before. He did not disappoint! Engaged with the audience, made it feel like a conversation. Will see him again!

    Marc maron wasn't prepared

    by Katy2013 on 2/17/13Capitol Theatre - Columbus

Marc Maron said he didn't prepare. And, after he said 'the show starts now' 2 or 3 times, I realized that he probably didn't have an act or show. It was just random thoughts similar to his podcast. On his podcast he eventually gets to the show- an interview. I ddn't want to sit through 45 minutes of random thoughts, and his "I'm not complaining" either. I left after about 20 minutes. The opening act was also uncomfortable to watch. Also, my original seat was right next to the speakers. It was unbearable. I had to mive to empty seat, higher and away from the speakers.

Good show, it was fun to watch Maron explore and figure stuff out about himself as he spoke and thought about it on stage.

    Riveting

    by JeremyP423 on 2/4/13Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

Amazing, funny, smart, piercing, edgy, accessible, relatable, fantastic - Marc Maron was all those things. Listen to his podcast, and if you can, see him live. There was never a dull moment. It was pretty much my first real standup comedy show, and I think I've found a world I'll be diving into much more now.

    Maron was great, as usual

by Freeza on 2/4/13Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

Maron is great at stand up. Loved his set, but the seats were really cramped and uncomfortable. Would not see another show at this venue. But, back to Maron, loved him! He was perfect...only complaint, his set was short. Oh and one more thing...there was a 13 year old girl front and center in the audience...it definitely affected Marc and I don't blame him...who lets a little girl go to a show like Marons??!

    Marc is Terrific

    by ttttt8 on 2/4/13Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

Just what we need on a cold February night. Laughs and a lot of them. He is wise and full of angst and combines the two in a hilarious way. I must say I liked his political routine better, but hey this is Washington DC. Sixth and I is an awful place to see his show. Hard to see and uncomfortable.

    Great!

by LastContract on 2/4/13Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

This was the first time we got to see Marc Maron live - we drove over an hour and a half to get to DC and back and we were not disappointed! Marc is probably the best story teller I've ever heard and his comedy comes out in a natural unrehearsed way.

    Great Show

by NinjaSousaphone on 3/23/12Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

Mark was absolutely captivating and the show was better than I could have ever believed. He talked with the audience before the show and after he was selling shirts and greeting the auidence. I can't state any better how good this show was.

    See the master at work

by patton81 on 3/18/12Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

There is not much I can say besides Marc is one of the best comedians working today, and this show did not disapoint. 2 hours of new material that was insightful and funny. Amber Preston opened for Marc and she was great as well. Do not miss a chance to see Marc Maron live!

    Workin' out the stuff

by MarloninMichigan on 3/17/12Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

More than fun and better than funny. A good evening from a irascible overly introspective comedian. He's workin' out his stuff as he walks the planet and he makes life more bearable for the rest of us, too. (What luck). Pay the man....he makes you laugh.

I hope Gilda's Laugh Fest is able to get Marc Maron to return next year. Maron put on a long show, but time flew by; a great night's entertainment. Worth driving into to Grand Rapids to see.
