A Quaint and memorable evening with Marc Cohn

by DWHLBAC on 5/16/18Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

I have seen Marc six or seven times and every time he has met my expectations. This venue used to be a church and his spiritual songs were right on time and right at home here. The hour and a half set consisted of some old favorites and a few pre Walking in Memphis days songs. Back up duo was excellent as well. A very comfortable enjoyable evening.

    Marc Cohn Trio

by melindamo on 5/16/18Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Wonderful wonderful show. Marc is such a great talent and his bandmates were SO good. Came out a much bigger fan than I went in. Always love it when that happens.

    Marc Cohen..Lovely concert..too short

by Davy8264 on 5/13/18Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I have loved Marc Cohen's music since his first CD came out almost 30 years ago. His voice is just as good and I just closed my eyes and got lost in the music...my only complaint was that it was too short. He played for 1 hour 15 mins and only played a few of his more popular songs..it went by too fast...

    Marc Cohn Was Excellent

by LankyYankee on 4/18/18The Rose - Pasadena

Marc had two warm-up groups. The first one was okay but the second one was very good. He played about an hour and a half without an intermission and sounded excellent. I'd definitely go see him again!

by LJMCC on 4/17/18The Canyon Santa Clarita - Santa Clarita

Marc Cohn was amazing! He had an incredible percussionist and a great keyboard player with him. It was a perfect mix. Marc is very funny and told just the right amount of stories with his songs and his voice was incredible. I would love to see him again.

    Made Me Smile

by DaveFan10001 on 4/17/18The Canyon Santa Clarita - Santa Clarita

This guy is so personable how can you not like him. Great voice, soulful lyrics, incredible partners on stage with him, great stories. It's like he is in your living room. Personally, the venue is a bit weird being in a shopping mall. I wanted to see him at the Coach House, but couldn't make that. Now , that's a music joint! Really, though it should all disappear if the performer is doing their job and Marc Cohn did his job. Would love to see him again.

    Marc never disappoints.

by 1super1 on 4/15/18The Canyon Agoura Hills - Agoura Hills

We have been going to Marc Cohn concerts for twenty years. He tells interesting stories both in song and on stage while chatting to the audience. His voice is as rich as it was at the beginning of his career. Clearly, he has an audience filled with long-time fans who enjoy his performance as if for the first time. His show is uncluttered as he is accompanied simply by a gifted percussionist and brilliant keyboard player. Marc's concert is truly an example illustrating the validity of the expression less is more. We can't wait until Mark returns to Southern California.

Marc Cohn with the Blind Boys of Alabama

by CAD1 on 3/21/18Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

First of all, the Scottish Rite Auditorium is a great venue. Beautiful facility. You can easily see the stage from anywhere you sit and no parking fee. I really came to see the Blind Boys of Alabama, but Marc Cohn was actually the headliner. The Blind Boys started out with a few songs, some from a new album and of course, their unusual version of Amazing Grace. Marc came on and joined them for one song and the Blind Boys left the stage. I actually didn't know who Marc was until I realized he did the Grammy Award winning song, Walking in Memphis. I found him to be humorous and enjoyed the songs he performed. The Blind Boys returned at the end of the show to do a few more songs with Marc including If I Had A Hammer and the concert ended on that note. Great show.

More than a concert...it was special

by spiderfingersfan07 on 3/20/18Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

I have been lucky to see Marc in concert about a dozen times over his long and storied career, including at the beginning of his career, one of first concerts after the incident and to the present. This time, he showed up with something special...the Blind Boys of Alabama. Not only did they do an opening act, but they came back for a large part of Marc's set. Marc has always had the gospel influence in his music, but listening to his music WITH a gospel group was amazing. I have never jumped up from my seat to applaud, but I could not help doing so after many of the songs. And Marc looked like he was having as much fun as the audience. Thanks, Marc, for leaving a lasting memory in South Jersey.

    Great collaboration

by Vpez on 3/20/18Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

Marc Cohn on his own is a good show. Butt adding the Blind Boys of Alabama makes for a special and interesting collaboration. The respect they have for each other's music was evident. I'll add that the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood is a great venue.

Soulful concert~A MUST SEE concert for all!

by dirick on 3/20/18Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

In a word I'd say WOW!!!!! This is our third time seeing Marc Cohn and first time seeing the Blind Boys. The entire concert was just wonderful. The Blind Boys are so talented and so humble. The concert was uplifting and spiritual. I love how they introduced Marc as their Hebrew friend. Also, Marc is such a soulful and talented musician. Everyone should see him at least once. We plan on seeing him every time he tours. We love how he praises his fellow musicians on stage. He's very sincere, funny and makes the audience feel relaxed. It's always an intimate concert in whatever setting.

    Beautiful evening

by rlammfan on 3/20/18Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

I had never seen Marc Cohn or the Blind Boys of Alabama in person but am familiar with their music. I knew it was going to be a great evening of great music; however, I didn't know that I would walk away feeling really uplifted. The harmonies of the BBOA were just beautiful and that Gospel sound is so compelling. Marc is quite personable and his songs tell such great stories....amusing and heartfelt. The venue is a nice place to see a show. The acoustics are great and I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. Mine was perfect. I would definitely recommend seeing Marc Cohn and the Blind Boys of Alabama....separately or together. It's an evening you will never forget.

by BruceL1 on 3/1/18Blue Ocean Music Hall - Salisbury

Was enjoying the show until political opinions were injected. Musicians and actors are for entertainment, stick with your jobs. Because of this, will never attend again nor recommend. Interesting, he kept his opinions to himself when opening for Micheal McDonald as did Micheal. Cohen should use his example!

    Never Disappoints

by Missprdh on 2/26/18Aura - Portland

Always a great concert ...music and stage presence is awesome! Saw him twice in the last 6 months. Smaller venue gives it a great vibe.

    AMAZING!

by 60187 on 2/26/18Blue Ocean Music Hall - Salisbury

Marc Cohn plays his heart out every time I see him! He is so talented and each show is different because he rocks and improvises sometimes! LOVE HIM! Classics and New songs both that touch your heart!

    Great concert

by lissaro on 2/26/18Aura - Portland

Marc Cohn did not disappoint. He was spontaneous and went beyond his recorded music with a lot of riffs and prolonged blues vibes. Aura is a great space. The entrance security was a bit overwhelming and unexpected, but I guess that's the way it is these days. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because our seats were near the bar and entrance and we could hear a lot of people talking during the concert. Will get balcony seats next time.

    Great Performer, Terrific Venue

    by greenie54 on 2/26/18Aura - Portland

We first saw Marc Cohn at The Paradise in Boston, MA back in the late 80’s when he was touring in support of his first album. We have seen him several times since and thirty years later he continues to put on a great show. The recently renovated Aura is another wonderful spot to experience live music in Portland. The small venue allows you close proximity to the artist and the sound is excellent. Wonderful experience overall.
