MALI MUSIC IN CONCERT:
Rising R&B singer Mali Music has staked a claim for himself among the genre's best and brightest with his honest lyrics, powerful vocals, and hip hop-tinged productions. An underground favorite turned mainstream contender, Mali Music is a self-made success who brings a healthy dose of humble authenticity to the stage every time he performs. Whether he's ministering to the crowd before his performances or crooning originals like "Beautiful" and "No Fun Alone", his passion and spirituality always make for an unforgettable concert experience.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Mali Music, a.k.a. Kortney Jamaal Pollard, began playing music in early childhood, and by age five he was already an accomplished multi-instrumentalist. Drawing inspiration from gospel music and soul legends like Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, he made his album debut as Mali Music in 2008 with the independently released The Coming. He followed up in 2009 with The 2econd Coming LP, receiving praise from critics and landing a deal with RCA records. He made his major label debut on the imprint in 2014 with the highly anticipated Mali is...LP, another impressive slice of gospel and hip hop-influenced R&B that has fans eagerly awaiting his upcoming tour dates.

Mali Music makes you want to be a singer. He makes you want to be a Christian if you weren't one. He makes you want to get baptized again if you are a Christian. He makes you want to dance. Mali Music makes you want to create...something! He makes you want to be of service. Mali Music is......music He is culture. He is balance. He is a God send and I am grateful to know of him and his music.
omg first off I got these tickets for me and my husband .my husband is the one who introduced me to his music ive been a fan ever since .so I seen these tickets I had to jump on them !! Mali did not disappoint .my husband and I kept saying he had great stage presence .he interacts with his audience while serenading us with that beautiful voice .the crowd was going wild with every song he did lol but overall we both enjoyed ourselves mali is a great performer its never a dull moment with him and he deserves all the success hes getting right now I would actually go see him again and I recommend you guys do the same dont sleep on him !!!!!
The entire show was amazing. He sang with passion. The band and background vocals were the best. His sister sang and she was awesome too. Overall great!
Had a great time!! He was just amazing. So Blessed. So filled with humility. Gospel music with a realistic edge! Loved it
Excellent show I recommend folks check out Mali when he comes to your city!
I saw Mali as an opening act for Erykah Badu and he was amazing. I had never heard of him before and he turned me into a fan. His ability to muse his musical talents into a rhythm that included singing, rap, piano playing, and the guitar was impressive. His message in song was so inspirational he took the message of Christ to a whole new level. For that, I am grateful for his music and not being being afraid to shine his light. Amazing artist. As Mali would say red is the new black as spoken in his song Everybody trying to make it into Heaven.
I was already in love with Mali Music and his sound and how the music made me feel(notice all the "and"). But this experience was top notch. I could feel his energy and he believes in his music. He touches on various aspects of life and i can relate them. This is concert contemporary life gospel at it's best. My only complaint was that it was not long enough. I NEED MORE. If his tickets go on sale i will definitely be purchasing again. BRING BACK MALI MUSIC.. The Howard Theater food was super awesome too. The opening acts were good too.
First off, Mali music was sooo amazing. Although he had 3 unexpected opening acts it was still a great show. The first gentleman, I think his name was Jordan was not only an amazing opening act but would have been more than enough. Everyone wanted Mali to perform for much longer. His opening acts took up much more time then I expect, but he was still dope. I would surely do it again. I also appreciated the intimate nature of the audience.
Good lighting and sounds! Food was too expensive!!
I usually don't attend standing events, or events when performers are performing to tracks, but Mali Music was such an incredible experience that I didn't mind standing and never even noticed there wasn't a band. I bought the whole album... something else I never do.
After standing up for three hours, Mali was great!
I couldn't wait see them here in DC. I enjoyed every minute of it.
He is incredible! His positive energy infused with soul, hip-hop and r&b is amazing.
Mali Music was AWESOME!!!!! We had great seats! I was disappointed in the guy that sang right before Mali came on........it was a terrible performance, and not entertaining. The problem with the venue was with having to spend $10 min at the tables in Howard Theatre, AFTER we spent money on the tickets for the concert.
Mali Music gave the best performance I have ever had at a concert. He was crowd attentive and REAL 100% of the time. Mali music played the songs that you came to the concert wanting to hear and ones you didn't expect to hear. The crowd was live and we all had a great time! The major issue I had was a single hour of the man I paid my money to SEE after 2 hours of people I had no clue were performing accept the first guy! That's ridiculius. I didn't pay to see artist I have never heard of or was not aware were going to perform. I came to get my fill of Mali Music.
I have attended a number of music shows and this event turned into my number one disappointment. Our tickets were for general admission only to show up and it is standing room only with limited seating. Also there were too many opening acts before Mali actually performed. It turned into a very late night for those who have to work the next day.
His show was amazing and it was just him and a dj. His energy is contagious and the music takes you to another place. I can't imagine what guys site wound be like with a live band. Some technical issues but that's always the case at howard theater.
One of my favorite artists ever in this lifetime! Secretly changing the world with his anointing and reaching an audience that most artists cannot inspire to live better and seek greater!
Excellent show. A lot of opening acts but they were excellent as well
