    Makaha Sons Fantastic

by E4WAF on 9/24/13Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

I already posted on FB how fantastic Makaha Sons are/were. The show was everything we hoped it would be. The dancers were a nice surprize. did not expect them. Reminded me of Hawaii in the 50s when I was stationed @ Hickam AFB & went to private luaus. Got a big kick out of the kane dancer. The music, as always, tugs on my heart strings. Especially liked that they finished with Kui Lee's "I'll remember you."

The Makaha Sons at EQC, What a Night!

by ofcrfrdly4 on 9/24/13Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Stand up bass player Eric Lee, 12 string maestro Jerome Koko, and 6 string virtuoso Moon Kauakahi played for two and a half hours of their greatest Hawaiian music (a little Tahitian thrown in for good measure!) and it was great fun! Jerome banters with the audience and has jokes and does some "talk story" about the good old days of Hawaii in the 70's, etc. They're "Da Best!" Aloha :)

    Makaha Sons Christmas Extravaganza

by finman115 on 12/13/11Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

We had a great time! Thankfully I received a FB message from Steven Espaniola letting us know that Faith Ako and he went on stage at 6:00 and not 7:00. Our tickets (and the casino) said the show started at 7:00. Faith and Steven went on at 6:00 and played for an hour as people were coming in.

Makaha Sons was good, but seats too close together

by spamstu10 on 12/12/11Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

The tent idea was nice and warm, especially during December. I also appreciated the big TV screens. The opening act was ok. The trailer restrooms were ok, but tacky. Andy was funny. As for Makaha Sons, it is too bad, the other performer did not show up. I understand he was sick. However, the sound and impact of the concert was not the same at all. All you fans of Makaha Sons know it takes all three of them to make their infamous music. The worst part, again, is the seating: too close to each other and no cushion. I would recommend going back to the ballroom.

Comedian very funny; Mahaka singers were great.

by Jasmine12 on 12/12/11Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

The show overall was good. Background could have been decorated more with Hawaiian theme, and peformers could have worn more colorful Hawaiian shirts. Also, needed were more Hawaiian dancing performers that would have made it this show much better.

    Reminded me of home!!!

by Wainuuonohea on 12/12/11Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

The show reminded me of when my father played the steel guitar with the "Hilo Hawaiians" the music was beautiful, the dancers were excellent. I enjoyed the easy style that Jerome and Moon communicate to the audience, it was like you were sitting on the patio talking stories and playing music. Jerome and Moon clearly love what they do. Mahalo!!

The Makaha Sons concert at Villa Montalvo was fantastic. Great music, very entertaining, lots of laughs and in a very special venue that had the greatest memories for my husband and myself, a place where we were married 25yrs ago. HIghly encourage all to see whenever possible.

    Wonderful!

by ajak on 1/18/11Montalvo - Saratoga

Just home from Maui by two days when my husband and I attended The Makaha Sons concert. It by far exceeded our expectations... the only thing that would have made it better was to see them on the beach in Hawaii. A great concert and we look forward to our next Makaha Sons show!
