BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
MAGIC! was formed in Toronto in 2012 by Nasri Atweh, Mark Pellizzer, Alex Tanas, and Ben Spivak. Their 2013 debut single "Rude" was an international hit, reaching No. 2 in the US, Australia, and New Zealand and peaking at No. 6 in their native Canada. Their success continued in early 2014 with an appearance on the Shakira track "Cut Me Deep" and a featured song on the official FIFA World Cup album. Their debut LP Don't Kill the Magic hit shelves in summer of 2014, and with "Rude" already is being called the "song of the summer" by The Today Show, the album is sure to be featured heavily at BBQs and pool parties the world over. With live chops that match their songwriting prowess, MAGIC! are sure to have fans awestruck on their future tour dates.
Magic were amazing. It was a great performance. I had a great great time. Unforgettable
Sidereal was an unexpected pleasant surprise. This local band can rock! The lead singer has an amazing voice, and the keyboard player was quite entertaining in his own right. Magic was good, but not as awesome as I'd hoped. They waited until the encore to since Rude and then did it off key, so.... Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is a good venue for smaller acts. While we might see Sidereal again, we wouldn't buy tickets to see Magic.
The band was amazing! Great show! Great venue! Must see!
They performed entire album and new songs. Very very good performance. I loved it!
Magic! are some of the best performers I have ever had the privilege of seeing. They are so interactive with the audience and really get into the music. They sound amazing, even despite the fact that Nasri told me that he couldn't hear himself the whole time. After the show they came out and talked to fans. Hands down one of the best nights of my life.
This band is phenomenal, I've seen them in concert twice already and I know that they're gonna kill it opening for maroon 5. I'm only writing this because for some reason people were reviewing one performance as opposed to the band as a whole. Buy their album, Rude isn't even the best song on it and the whole band has really good stage presence. Amazing songwriting and melodies and their shows are just really fun. You'll love them
For 50$ a ticket I would expect at least a free drink or some kind of Bears giveaway at the door. I thought it said also that players would be signing autographs, otherwise I would have left my extra Bears hat and t-shirt at home. Next time do more to get a Bears crowd rowdy .. Not sure techno was the answer.
Good venue but terrible show. The football players were not interacting with the crowd and were really boring when they were being interviewed on stage. I thought there would be a silent auction or something and there was nothing. Concert didn't start til 9:30 as we waited since 8 pm. We left early because it was so boring and the crowd was small and average.
The focus of the night wasn't on the BEARS. It was not a true kickoff party. Too much DJ time and not enough Chicago Bear time. Bear players weren't available to sign autographs or interact with fans. Those of us in attendance were standing around waiting to see/hear from the Bears. While, I didn't mind the music some in attendance didn't...you can't advertise ona country station and play dance music. A marketing teams needs to replan the event to focus on the Bears.
The concert was less than an hour. Great when they were on but tickets were too much for a 40 minute show
Magic! Put on a amazing show! I would definitely go see them again and recomend EVERYONE to go see them!!
Show was moved from large venue into a smaller setting, crowd wasn't big at all, so that's understandable. Show started half hour after it was supposed to, no opening act... nothing. I wish I'd have known that bc I would've stayed in the casino floor and drank. Magic! Was great, their music was fun and they sounded really good. But they played less than a dozen sins, ended with their hit... no encore. Paid $30 a ticket plus convenience charge for a show that barely lasted a half hour. The venue and ticketmaster should be ashamed of the price point listed for the show.
Like their music, but was disappointed in overall performance. Took my daughter and one of her friends. I didn't expect too much but after driving for 9 hours, they were 35 minutes late to stage and only played for about 35 minutes or so. Just download the album, you'll have the same experience.
