MAD FOR MP...still crying!!!
by Leernj22 on 2/17/24I was first introduced to Maddie Poppe on American Idol in 2018. Wholesome Iowan with a stellar voice and she was strumming on a mean guitar. I was HOOKED! Voted each week for her, (on American Idol) and thought to myself, she might just win, hey, it could happen! When I watched each new episode of Idol, I was captivated by her leadership with other contestants and never saw someone work so hard behind the scenes. Practicing and encouraging others. When Maddie made it to the top 12, 10, 5 and 2...I cried every step of the way. When her name was called, as the next American Idol...I hit the floor with tears streaming down my face in pure joy! What a memorable moment that is forever ingrained in my mind. Maddie is a humble, funny and down to earth kinda gal. I met her a few dozen times and have loved her ever since. She always seems grateful to see me and happy to take a picture or two or three. I think 3 is her limit! Ha! I will be a Maddie Poppe fan until my time on this earth has expired. At 60, I hope to see many more concerts with Maddie and follow her success for another decade. Who knows, by then she may be married to Gabe and be chasing twins around Nashville. Hey, it could happen!
