Macon Mayhem at Macon Coliseum

Georgia’s Macon Coliseum, a stone’s throw from the Ocmulgee riverfront, is home to the former Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) champions Macon Mayhem. The Mayhem are led by gritty head coach Kevin Kerr, named 2016-17 SPHL Coach of the Year, now in his second stint with the team. Kerr is a professional hockey lifer - in his nearly 20 years as a player, he was a fierce right winger who topped 100 points in a season five times while with the Flint Generals. He brings that same tenacious mentality to a team that features equal parts experience and promise, headlined by players like 2019-20 SPHL top goal scorer Brian Bowen, shifty center Stephen Pierog and fast rising goalie Jake Theut. Mayhem games inside the grandiose Coliseum offer something for everyone, with multiple Family Fun Nights, a ’90s themed night and even a “Margaritaville Night” with a Best Dressed Jimmy Buffet contest. Besides single game tickets, five- or ten-game flex packages are available, as well as season tickets in the upper bowl or up against the glass right in front of the action. Another reason to consider season seats? All packages include exclusive parking lot access, buddy passes, merchandise discounts and more.

Macon Mayhem Background

Founded in 2010 as the Augusta RiverHawks, the team moved to Macon ahead of the 2015-16 season and officially became the Mayhem. They wasted no time making their new presence felt in the SPHL ranks and won the President’s Cup in their second season by sweeping the Peoria Rivermen in the Championship Series. Part of the Macon Centreplex, Macon Coliseum is the multipurpose events jewel of Central Georgia. In addition to hosting all Mayhem home games, the Centreplex hosts monster truck rallies, professional wrestling, the Garden Brothers Nuclear Circus, family-centric events and large-scale concerts from stars like The Avett Brothers, Mary J. Blige and Patti LaBelle.

    My first time seeing Mayhem, my third hockey game. It was a lot of fun. The venue is easy to get in & out of, parking was easy. The game got exciting & ended up in over-time. We sat on the very front row by the glass. That was a unique experience, but I don't think I'd buy tickets for that row again. Everyone should probably get a chance to do that, but about a third of the rink was not visible. Will definitely go again!

    This was an absolute amazing experience. Due to the affordability I was able to get my family glass seats. The game was intense and everyone immediately fell in love with the game. We can’t wait to go back and watch again. Overall great experience!

    Had an amazing time! The team and fans were fantastic. I wish I would have started attending games sooner. I'll be buying season tickets next year.

    This was our fifth family trip to the Macon Centreplex (all to see the Mayhem perform) and, to date, it has yet to disappoint! The Centreplex is a nicely appointed, well-maintained, family-friendly location that has great ease of access to seating, concessions and the restrooms. I am specifically impressed with the way the Mayhem operations are run under the aegis of Colin Mitchell and Michelle Carey. Their collective management of between-period entertainment (Weiner dog races tonight) the Macon Maniacs Kid's Club and other assorted promotional events is world-class! The Centreplex staff is welcoming and informative, the atmosphere is inviting and security is tight without being overbearing. We're looking forward to the next match!

    I am a hockey fan and have been to a few pro games, the Mayhem game was great fun for my parents and a blast for my kids and myself! The colosium was clean and wasn't a bad seat in the house! The fans were polite and energetic! Go Mayhem!

    Hadn't seen a live hockey game in decades. This was the perfect game to reacquaint me to the speed and excitement that is unique to hockey. This particular game was high scoring that went into overtime. Eventually decided by shootout in favor of the home team. MACON FANS WERE GREAT!!!

    The seats and the game were awesome. However, the vending was terrible. We purchased the package tickets (game, hat, coke, and hot dog). There was only 1 vendor stand (out of 6) that you could redeem the promo at. The line was wrapped around the side of the building for the whole game. So in order not to stand in line the whole time, we opted to watch the game and forget about the food and drinks. But very poor customer service on the arena's end I believe. We will just eat before the game from now on.

    It was the first hockey game for my daughter and her friend. It was exciting and we all had a great time! We could not really understand the announcer, though.

    Had a great time at the Macon Mayhem game! It is a fun family atmosphere and the fans were really into the game. Downtime in play is filled with fun activities and the crowd is encouraged to participate. Parking is an extra 5 bucks for hockey games, but space is plentiful. Looking forward to our next game! Make sure to wear layers because it can get cold inside.

    Glad hockey back in Macon, have been to national league game lately and the music and announcer volume was not as loud as in Macon hockey arena.Might be affecting attendance which needs to improve.
