Didnt need the first 2 bands, all that was needed was Machine Head. They played an amazing 2 hour show with a span of songs from every one of there cds. They kept the energy up and never let us go. Cant wait till the next time i see them.

They could do without Suicdie Silence

by krrisstta on 2/2/12STAGE AE - Pittsburgh

MACHINE HEAD did an amazing show. I highly suggest you see Machine Head if you get the chance. The lead singer is great with the crowd, he talked to us & made us feel good about being fans. Adam Duce(bassist) kept making eye contact with me & smiling. He personally gave me his guitar pick. I like a band that can connect with their fans, even if only for a short moment The Darketst Hour, opening band, did extremely well. Ive never heard of them before this concert. They definitely have potential. Suicide Silence, ehhh not very impressed. Yes they can put on a good show, I just don't like the screaming the whole time! Literally every song, straight screaming, it was a femiinine scream too.

    MA-CHINE-HEAD!!!

by Hskylvr on 1/28/12State Theatre - Portland

WOW...I have been to a few metal concerts in my time, and I will tell you that this was BY FAR one of the BEST..Machine Head performed at Portland's State Theater, giving the audience an intimate setting. No matter where you sat, you could see them easily..This show did not disappoint us at all..And Robb Flynn played his new signature Love/Death Baritone..what a sight!

    Machine Head

by perfectionlostxx on 1/27/12Newport Music Hall - Columbus

Amazing show all around, loved the venue, was my first time there, and the crowd was perfect. The sound in general was nice, could actually understand the singers when they were just chit chatting. The only thing I couldn't stand was the little scene girls in front of me squealing like they were at a Beiber concert when Suicide Silence came on.

All I can say is WOW! I last saw this band in 1999 and I have not seen any other band progress into an unstoppable machine like they have. The Newport is notorious for having a bad sound, but Machine Head absolutely DOMINATED! The only way to see this band is a smaller indoor club such as Newport because you need to be close to the stage in order to see these gods of metal tear up the stage.

    A true machine!!

by ghostinthegene on 1/26/12Newport Music Hall - Columbus

These guys nailed it. From start to finish, from Old to Unto the Locust, everything was right on. They were like machines in their execution but it had the unmistakable energy of a live performance.

    Machine Head!

by metalnerd on 1/26/12Newport Music Hall - Columbus

Top notch as always. These guys always deliver superior music, great message, and brutal live show. Very nice to see a headlining show again. It's been since Through the Ashes tour in '05 so we were ready.

    Machine Head killed!

by BrianHarris on 1/26/12Newport Music Hall - Columbus

Got to the club at 8pm, and Suicide Silence had just started. Missed Darkest Hour :o( who I wanted to see. So the show must have started at 7 instead of 7:30. I thought it was 7:30. But props to The Newport for keeping things on schedule. Machine Head were great...not only in performance and energy, but their light show was incredible. Props to their lighting designer, and lighting engineer. Overall, their mix was fantastic. But as a drummer myself, I was very upset that Dave McClain's snare was buried deep into the mix. He's a hard hitter and even then, it wasn't cutting through. I thought maybe it was the frequency of where I was standing for most of the set (on the side), so I moved to the back for the last 5 or so songs, just in front of the soundboard, and it was only about 5% better. I expect more from MH's soundman. He should know the most important drum to hear on a drum kit is the snare. If anything should NOT be buried in the mix, it should be the snare. So that was my only issue. Other than that......killer. Dave killed it as expected.

Opening bands were so-so, machine head put on an excellent set as they always do, despite some bass gear issues this time around. But once they got the bass back, it was icing on the cake.
