7 year old son loved it

by Anonymous on 1/3/18Balboa Theatre - San Diego

We had a great time at a Pirate’s Christmas ! The singing was great and so was the interaction. Peter’s voice was really terrific and Tink’s sullenness was very amusing. The pirates, Smee, Wendy and Captain Hook and all of the dancers were also terrific. I agree with the other reviewer that the Chula Vista and Santee jokes were not in the best of taste.

    Worst play I have seen

by SDfamily1 on 12/24/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Like watching a High School play, but worse. If I wanted to teach my kids what Twerking was I would have at home. Inappropriate. Rude jokes were made about people who live in Chula Vista (and I dont even live there!). Yet then Tinkerbell spoke Spanish and was the same ethnicity as the people they were making fun of in Chula Vista? The Lost "boys" were girls. Which confused not only my kids but all the kids sitting around us were asking their parents why the boys were girls. If you want to make them girls that's fine, but call them the lost "girls" because that's what they were. Even better would be to do both girls and boys and call them the lost KIDS. The sailors were supposed to be Elvis, Michael Jackson, and John Lennon. It was just odd. And then Elvis demonstrated Twerking with his butt to the crowd. And they used the word Twerking. Afterward my kids said it was the worst play they had ever seen.
