About

Born in Sweden, Lykke Li's cool brand of electronic dream pop is decidedly Scandinavian, and bears a faint resemblance to that other Nordic music goddess Björk. In Lykke Li's music the synthesizers are like shimmering fjords, and the violins and cellos like ice-capped mountain peaks. However, it's Lykke Li's voice -- a soprano -- that has the range of a cinematic Nordic vista and his force of her music. Lykke Li dropped her debut album, Youth Novels, in 2008. In 2009, the singer-songwriter won the Meteor Music Award for Best International Artist. Lykke Li released her sophomore album, Wounded Rhymes, in 2011; featuring an innovative mix of tribal beats, skittering keyboards and sultry yet haunting, pop noir-style vocals, the album landed on many music critics' lists for best albums of 2011, including the New York Times and Rolling Stone.

Lykke Li is as famous for her eclectic concerts as she is her unusual soundscapes. Equipped with nothing but a drum kit, guitar, bass, and a necklace made of percussive instruments, Lykke Li's simple stage set-up – as minimal as a Swedish landscape in winter -- has been electrifying ticket buyers since her meteoric rise to fame in 2009. She has a massive global fan base that follows her tours all over the world, bringing venues like Observatory North Park (San Diego) to capacity. She has played big-name outdoor concert festivals like Glastonbury, Lollapaloooza, and Coachella, and has appeared on Last Call with Carson Daily and the Late Show with David Letterman. The song "Get Some" has been featured on TV programs like Hawaii Five-O and Pretty Little Liars, and "I Follow Rivers" was highlighted on Glee. The Magician Remix of "I Follow Rivers," however, is a runaway club hit in Europe, peaking at No. 1 in Romania and No. 2 in Ireland.

    Lykke Li Does Not Disappoint

by SillyPal on 10/19/18The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Lykke Li is amazing! I missed out the first time she performed few years back and am so glad I ordered the tickets right away this time around. She is just powerful and talented. Girl can hold up a crowd all on her own. Sounds just as good as the album. The venue - Wiltern - have seats that are so uncomfortable. I understand it’s an old theatre but it was extremely difficult to sit through the opening band that I almost wanted to get up and go. Good thing I didn’t! When she does come back again to Los Angeles I hope her fan base has grown even bigger for a better venue.

The concert was extremely intimate. Lykke put on an amazing show. I feel like I connected to her on another level. The staff was good. Venue was clean. Guests were respectful. I would not have changed anything about that night

    Intimate show with Lykke Li

by SamanthaN1234 on 10/11/18Paradise Rock Club - Boston

The show was great. The venue is small but beautiful which felt intimate. Only downside was she came on stage much later than expected (almost two hours later than showtime listed online) but still had an amazing time seeing one of my favorite artists live.

    Lykke make me leaky!

by Dorbie on 10/11/18Paradise Rock Club - Boston

My first visit at the Paradise Rock Club. Intimate venue. Two stories allow decent stage view. Bars and drinks at both ends. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Great performance by Lykke Li. Huge fan!

    Awesome Singer - Poor Venue

by Snow7 on 10/10/18Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Lykke Li's talent and voice speak for themselves. She shares the positive energy that she has with her audience. However, a poor venue can definitely spoil the experience. Lykke deserves to sing for much larger audiences and in better venues. I am sure she will still be sold out. I recommend people to see this amazing talent - Lykke Li.

    Good songs despite playback

by HazerMinst on 10/12/14Radio City Music Hall - New York

Lykke Li gave good wibes to the show as she was moving on the stage. She however tends to repeat the same moves with her face and hair. Acoustic from Radio City Hall is awesome ! Definitively worth going to shows there! Extremely good organization.

    Lykke Li, Another Phenomenal Show

by longarche on 10/11/14The Tabernacle - Atlanta

This was my second time seeing Lykke Li and I found it even more brilliant than her tour for her first album. Bigger production, great sound engineering, every band member was spot on and excelled at every phrase and note. One simply could not have asked for more!

Lykke Li - Me no likey!

by Toddy321 on 10/9/14Radio City Music Hall - New York

This was the most god-awful gig I think I've ever been to. From the pre-show write-ups I'd seen, it sounded like it would be a good mix of tracks with different sounds etc but to be honest I think she could have played one track for an hour and a half and it would have sounded the same. It was longest hour and a half of my life! On the plus side, the venue was awesome and Mapei, the support, was really good. I'll definitely be looking her up i the future. As for Lykke Li, I definitely won't be buying any of her music. My advice - steer clear!

    Where was the energy?

by GoneAWOLagain on 10/9/14Radio City Music Hall - New York

This was probably the worst gig I've been to in years. The performance lacked energy, dripped with fake spontaneity, failed to engage the audience. 5 songs in, Li announced her frustration with the early part of the set, by calling "right, let's get this started" asking everybody to get up and dance for the next number - a song too slow to dance to which left the audience standing there like so many mourners at a funeral. One Springsteen cover got feet tapping, but does anyone really believe (even though it's a great song) that it was her "favorite song ever"? Remarkably, at the end, the house lights and recorded music came on before she left the stage - leaving the band walking off at the same time as the audience...a limp end to a limp concert. Including the encore, one hour and twenty minutes. A relief to us all she didn't subject us to more.

Great show but only once they balanced the sound

by stephrenee on 10/8/14Radio City Music Hall - New York

The concert eventually became great, but only after the sound team finally balanced the sound. It's not Lykke Li's fault, but the crowd was not with her for the first few songs because, to be quite honest, the sound coming from the speakers was offensive. I'm familiar with her music, so I knew something was amiss, and it was eventually mostly corrected, but it remained too loud for the finality of the show. I usually wish they turned UP the volume at shows, and everyone around me expressed the same opinion, so I know it wasn't just me. Come on, Radio City! You can do better!

    Awesome!

by Missformaggio on 10/8/14Radio City Music Hall - New York

Sound was awesome! Radio City and Lykke Li go hand in hand. Her voice was fantastic and I was great seeing her perform in person finally! Love the drummer too! They should have done more exciting stuff for the stage design and the smoke machines were kinda cheesy.

Stadium theatrics without a stadium performance

by Oztin on 10/8/14Radio City Music Hall - New York

This was a really strange show. I didn't hate it, but it wasn't good. Lykke Li has an amazing voice. The sound was good and Radio City is so beautiful. She had a decent set list but anticlimactic encore. The worst part was that the artist did not match the performance. For example, if you see Aerosmith or Drake you expect this cheesy level of dramatic stage performance e.g. "HELLO NEW YORK!! HOWS EVERYONE TONIGHT LET ME HEAR YOU SAY YEAH! You can do better than that! I was in Kansas City last night and they did better!" It felt like I was at a pep rally. She asked people to stand up and sing along to songs a lot of people around me didn't know. It was also dumb to dance standing up in front of your overpriced seat. The drunk people made it happen though, which was hilarious. To me, if the point is to dance to the dance music that she is most known for, the venue more suited would have been Webster Hall. The crowd was pretty bad. Mostly affluent people over 35 that got completely wasted off $16 drinks before the show even started. There was a fight that broke out next to us, which is laughable considering we saw Lykke Li. Overall not my favorite performance and I infortunately would not recommend this tour for casual fans.

Lykke Li is owned by her label

by whoever2 on 10/7/14Radio City Music Hall - New York

This concert was overproduced. Lykke Li used to be a very cool, great sounding, unique Indie performer. No longer. And the vaunted sound system at Radio City Music Hall? Just loud. loud and too loud. Not clean sounding, but shrill.

Lykke Li did not impress me

by musicfan3j3 on 10/7/14Radio City Music Hall - New York

The sound was off a bit. If have to think the people operating the soundboard hadn't worked this type of venue before. I did like that she changed several of her songs a bit for the show. Lastly the show was very short.
