    38 Special Rocked The House

by ZekeZukoski on 8/23/09Fraze Pavilion - Kettering

This show was well worth the money. Scandal rocked. 38 Special was amazing. Loverboy came on strong after a slow start.

    Scandal was awesome

by mariesock on 8/23/09Fraze Pavilion - Kettering

We loved it all but Scandal was the best. The weather was perfect. 38 Special and Loverboy were great. We could have done without the ten minute drum solo by Loverboy.

    .38 Special was the show

by throwheat on 8/23/09Fraze Pavilion - Kettering

Scandal was even better than I had hoped. .38 Special was the reason I went and they were above and beyond what I expexcted. They should have been the headliner and sang more entire songs instead of a medley. Once you got by the substantial weight gain of MIke Reno his voice is still good and the band was great. The venue is amazing.

    38 Special stole the show

by bigtim on 8/23/09Fraze Pavilion - Kettering

Scandel was good but 38 Special was great and stole the show. The energy and string of hits was memorable. This was the third time I have seen Loverboy and they were terrible (seem to be getting worse every time I see them). I am not sure why they would think anyone would want to hear a 20 minute drum solo/bass guitar solo in the of the show. My hunch is that it was so the lead singer could take on oxygen to get through the rest of the show. I think he spent much of the 90's munching on doughnuts

    Smyth, 38 Special & Loverboy

by BSMidwest on 8/23/09Fraze Pavilion - Kettering

Three excellent bands took the stage Saturday night. We really enjoyed them all. Patty Smyth and Mike Reno's singing was distinctly heard above the instruments - most excellent.

Scandal, 38 Special, Loverboy was awesome!

by BigOleBugEyes on 8/23/09Fraze Pavilion - Kettering

I felt all 3 bands gave it their all for the show. Patty Smyth was energetic, fun and really played up to the audience. 38 Special sounded amazing. Loverboy was fun too and loved listening to their most famous songs!

    Loverboy still has it....

by Brt55 on 7/22/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

After all of these years, Loverboy still can out perform most other modern day rockers. Having been a fan for over 27 years, I have had the pleasure of seeing the group live many times. They still sound absolutely fabulous. Paul, Doug ,Matt,Spider sound incredible. Matt still wails on those drums like no tommorow. One can not forget Mike Reno. His voice is still able to hit those high notes. I could have listened to that show agagin, again and again. The crowd was great too. Kudos to those who stood upand cheered from the very beginning to after the first encore. I feel sorry for those who get fron row seats and just sit there. Thanks guys for still putting yourself out there and continue to rock like there is no tommorrow.

    Loverboy Loves Us Up

by Atish1 on 7/21/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

Sometimes you go to see a performer or a band from times past. You're excited and you think, oh man!! This is gonna be great! All those old songs that I still love to hear and all the memories that come along with them. Then, there are times when they hit the stage and open their mouths to let it rip, and, oh boy --- you say to yourself, how do I get out of here gracefully?? They just are not very good. THIS LOVERBOY concert in A.C., HOWEVER was NOT one of those times!!! I am happy to report! They were fantastic! Mike Reno, lead singer backed by one hell of a band, lead the way through two hours of real rock profusion. He is still very charming, charismatic, and funny. Not that he's 100 years old, but they have been performing as a band for 30 years as he pointed out. Yeah, I was dying to see him in those red leather pants, but I'll take him as he was, adorable with a strong and powerful voice right on target. it was great fun to hear those old hits and I would love to see them again when they revisit. The drummer was a marvel playing a solo that impressed even my husband who is a hard core drumming critic. The bass and lead guitar sounded really great too. They were having so much fun. Rock on guys!

    Loverboy can still do it!

by bmh2009 on 7/20/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

I haven't seen these guys since 91' in Philly touring "Big Ones." Reno can still belt it out without "electronic assistance," Dino never missed a chord, Matt played like he was 21, & it was great to see & hear Doug Johnson again - with sax. When I heard they were coming close to NYC, I went. If you ever liked these guys, you should go see them now!

    loverboy rocks like 1983

by billybops36 on 7/19/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

The guys did a great concert for the small but energetic crowd in ac last night. They played all the hits, and Mike Reno still has the best pipes in rock n' roll! They played 13 songs in about 90 minutes. Wish they played a litttle longer, but that is life at a casino show. Bottom line....THEY ROCKED!
