The game itself was not one of the SOL's best. If the play had been better, the overpriced parking and food might have been worth it. We would go to more games but between the parking and ticket fees, even an inexpensive ticket becomes prohibitive for a weeknight excursion. I would also recommend a section for the noise makers when there are so many vacant seats.
Was not sure what to expect as we were coming in from our of town to watch this. Parking was easy, staffing was in abundance everything was clean. Kids enjoyed it. The game was good, could not have planned to go on a better game as it was McDonalds kids day- Really wish key players would have given the kids autographs. Win or loose we teach our kids to show respect. This means for your fans as well. Win or loose they are there to see you play and play a great game. Took a group of U10 -U12 AYSO soccer players to this match and they loved it!
The WPS soccer league has THE best players in the world all competing with eachother. The level of play is magnificent and just over all exciting. I highly suggest you check out some games and support this sport that doesn't get the attention it deserves. Women's sports get so little recognition as it is, but the WPS gives performances that all people can enjoy and appreciate.
Is it me, or is watching Sol soccer more entertaining than the MLS? Seriously, with world class names like Boxx, Marta, Abily, Duan, Miyama, LeBlanc you'd think you're talking about an All star selection when indeed they are all on one team! I took some friends who have been to other matches they found un-entertaining, but they loved how exciting it is to watch the passing, execution and playmaking skills of these women!
I am not a soccer fanatic, so take this review with a grain of salt. This professional soccer match seemed to have a lot of amateur play in it. Only after the game did I read an interview with Marta that confirmed what I had been observing. The Sol did not do a good job of controlling the ball on offensive possessions. They kicked it downfield, often seemingly just to clear it. Marta was unable to get many scoring chances, and the Sky Blue actually controlled the ball more than the Sol did. That said, Marta was consistenly amazing with her speed. She is really in league all her own, so superior was her play to all the others on the field. There was a stunningly serious injury to one of the Sky Blue players. It just goes to show that women's soccer is fast and potentially harmful, just like men's soccer.
game was incredible. great atmosphere. great fan souveniors. had a blast at the game!
My 10 year old daughter and I went to this event/soccer game. It was a great game and if the economy is willing I will go again. My daughter and I will go to every SOL game I can afford to attend.
So much fun! The ladies are very inspiring and fun to watch.
At first, I wasn't too sure about attending, but I'm truly glad I went. Although it still upsets me how the American public is not concerned about soccer, and much less women's soccer, I felt at home when I went to the game. The pre-game events were very fun and I had a blast.
Except for my tickets not printing on line like they were supposed to...the event was great. And even though I had to go to the ticket window to pick up my tickets, the line was not long, and the ticketmaster operator was very friendly and helpful. La Sol always puts on a good game, and the "kids" day activities were great fun for the kids too!!!!
The game was good and the staff worked hard to excite the crowd with give-aways. The only bad part was having to wait in the regular ticket window for Will Call tickets. There should be a separate line for Will Call.
We had so much fun...the staff at Home Depot Center was amazing, especially the ladies at the Customer Service booth. The kids loved all the activities, especially the bounce houses and the Soccer Collies. Bek an Ms. Z were amazing. I recommend that you fill the kids bellies before you arrive though, the concessions are EXPENSIVE. But it was cool that merchandise was on sale, all the kids got a souvenier!!!! Absolutely great soccer fun! Can't wait to do it again.
The Los Angeles Sol play soccer like real professionals. They play hard the entire game which demonstrates their excellent fitness level. The team has great chemistry with each other and thus are able to string together tactical passes all across the field.
