Los Angeles Lakers History
The Lakers are one of the most storied franchises in all of sports. They boast 19 conference titles, 35 division titles and 17 NBA Championships. The franchise started in 1947 as the Minneapolis Lakers in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and predated the official founding of the NBA. At the time, the Lakers were a member of the National Basketball League (NBL). They moved to the Basketball Association of America (BAA) prior to the 1948–49 season. After that season, the NBL and BAA merged to form the NBA. The Lakers dominated the newly formed NBA, winning five of the first six NBA Championships.
Two big decisions in 1960 altered the future of the franchise. First, they selected Jerry West with the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft. Then, the franchise moved to Los Angeles in the same offseason, becoming the NBA's first West Coast team. After several trips to the NBA Finals and trading for Wilt Chamberlain, the Lakers won the NBA Championship in 1971–72, an amazing season that included a 33-game win streak, which is still the NBA record for most consecutive wins. West would go on to become a Hall of Famer, and his silhouette is featured as the NBA's logo.
The Lakers' next era of dominance began in 1979, when they selected Earvin "Magic" Johnson with the No. 1 overall pick. Johnson's unrivaled passing ability allowed the Lakers to play with an up-tempo style that became known as "Showtime." Led by Johnson and fellow Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the Lakers won the NBA Championship in Johnson's rookie season and a total of five titles during the '80s.
The Lakers were led to three consecutive titles between 2000 and 2002 by the legendary duo of Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, including a run through the 2000–01 playoffs that saw them lose just one game in four series. The franchise entered a short rebuilding period after trading O'Neal in 2004, but Bryant led the Lakers to three consecutive NBA Finals appearances once again, starting in the 2007–08 season. They lost to the Celtics in their first appearance, but responded by winning the next two championships, the second of which came in seven games against the Celtics.
Following the postponement of the 2019-20 NBA season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team won its most recent NBA Finals in 2020 in the NBA Bubble behind Finals MVP LeBron James and All-Star forward Anthony Davis. In 2023, the Lakers won the inaugural NBA in-season tournament.

Great game, great game, great service in the premier section. Fantastic!
View was great: right in the middle: I toook lots of pictures and they all came out with great resolution!
Great game. Great seats... Lakers played the best ball they've played to that point in the season.
We are sitting really close to the basketball court. My son's 24th birthday, and he's sitting on 24th sit row 14. And top it all Lakers win, such a great experienced.
Great seats! Wonderful experience and would do it again!
The game was great. I was seating to the back of the basketball stands, so I couldn't see every details. But with the help with the screen, I didn't miss any wonderful moments of the games. I did enjoy seeing the game in Staples Center and with Lakers' fans. However, Lakers disappointed me again.
I took my boyfriend to this game for his birthday and he loved it because he's a Heat fan. Overall atmosphere was great and both teams put on quite a show.
Good game. great seats. 1st row and at the end, near the aisle are the best seats in section 310. Im usually in the last row in section 310.... Good game by the Lakers. Let's go Lake Show!!
The arena was clean and very nice. Only wish they would have won!
Good game, staff was very attentive... food overpriced. There were two children sitting next to me un supervised.
I had an awesome time. I guess it didnt hurt that the lakers won but nonetheless. the surrounding spectators were great too, all laker fans. cant wait for future games.
Saw the Lakers shut down the Bucks and had a great seat! Can't wait to go to another game soon.
A Sunday night Lakers game. Parking was easy with lots of lots around Staples Center. The cheapest ones were $10 about two blocks away, then it gradually climbs to $12, $15, $20. The lines getting in weren't long. Inside the center it was easily navigable with lots of clean restrooms and food stands to choose from. Before getting to our seats, we had to wait until a whistle blows to be able to walk into the stadium. I thought that was nice as it ensures a more ordered crowd and doesn't ruin the flow of the game. At Section 318, Row 1, it was very easy to see the players and their movements. I think 318 row 1 pretty much has the same views as the best luxury suites. After the game is done, getting out took a few minutes but was very ordered in lines. We got a free Jack-in-the-Box taco coupon on the way out. There were cops on the streets outside the stadium so it felt safe.
Good game as the Lakers won. I thought parking was a little expensive.
Had a very good time, Company matters a lot, had great seats and loved the game.
I´m from Portugal, and I went to watch the game in Staples Center. Everything was great since the game until the organization. I was a little afraid because I purchased the tickets from the web, bet everything was great and the organization is phenomenal!!! Thanks
It was great to visit L.A. and watch my team pull together and play well. Thanks Ticketmaster for such an easy method of securing tickets for this event. Fabulous!
Good match but lakers loose Good animation for public
I liked the atmosphere and the intensity in the game. And Kobe makes you believe the win is still possible until the last minute. Unfortunately, LA lost. But great game.
Ticketmaster always deliver! I really enjoyed the experience of buying the tickets and having them email the tickets to me with absolutely no hassles. I have always used Ticketmaster in the past and will continue to do so in all my future events.
